Bruising or Burns?

Hello!! I wasn't sure if this was a burn or a bruise underneath her eye and cheek. She just laid her clutch, and I'm worried because this is the first time I've seen these dark spots. here's some photos, if anyone has some advice to maybe prevent these that'll be great! i'd love some input or some feedback as well.

I’m going to say those are bruises. Check for things that are sticking out that she can get poked on…like the end of that zip tie. Cut it down to the nub.

Or she is literally rubbing off a shed on said zip tie. But said zip tie has not been cut off, so its not really that pokie...

There are zip ties that aren’t cut evenly, so I’ll cut them when she’s sleeping! Will she be able to heal from these bruises? I’ve heard chameleons get them sometimes.

I’ve used washed play sand. And she laid 40 eggs. I’m planning to definitely reduce that amount.

I cut mine and then melt the ends with a lighter.

Same! Melt it first then, once it cools test it with your hand to make sure there are no more sharp edges

Thanks!! I was concerned about the pointy edges so I didn’t cut all of the zip ties. I’ll have someone help me with melting it lol! Scared of burning myself .

Me too! I got one of those candle lighters with the long ends so I wouldn't burn myself. The smaller lighters would for sure create a risk to burn you.

Good idea to try to reduce the number of eggs being produced.

I’ve used a washed plays and produced by King’s for years and it always works for a laying substrate.

Thank you! Didn't realize she's a girl, but she became gravid and laid so now she's on a diet!!
