Cage build 2

The colored stains are made by Minwax i believe, they come in blue, green, yellow, red, grey and a few other colors i believe. I keep getting areas where the color is MUCH darker compared to the rest of the areas stained. Everything was well sanded and cleaned prior to so im not sure what the issue is.

I do use daylight bulbs(6500k) in my set ups. Various brands, but they help with plant growth tremendously imo especially if you have light "needy" plants like Hibiscus.

I use daylight bulbs in 48" T5ho, 24" T8, 18"T8, and cfl sizes. The T5HO seems to put out much more light compared to the others, but is also twice the length of the others i use so it is hard to give and accurate comparison. The new LED lghts seem to be pretty good, i know a few.members use them but im waiting on a "review" before i try them though

do they come in 24 inch sizes too?

I can't wait to get mine!! EEK!! Gracie will be sooo happy!!! Then I can finally hang some freaking pothos for her!

how does that work?
the diff sizes.

The parts or "guts" of the fixture are made to hold the 22" bulb. (Why 22" im not sure lol) but id guess the shell of the fixture is made in 24" because of cages being that size. That way it wouldnt rest on the screen alone

got ya.

yea i need to get some grow bulbs cuz my plants just arent thriving like i want them to. just not enough light.

You have done a very nice job on the enclosure! :)

thank you! im very proud of it.

Once glacier gets a bit bigger, hes getting a big boy cage like kinks.

heres my entire cham set up.
from left to right.
Lilys cage.
Kinks cage.
Glaciers cage.
Miss piggy the hoe, and the jax twins cage.
Yes for now, they are in the same cage. only because the cages i was planing to set up for them.. are broken. :(
so ill be replacing them next weekend.

but thankfully, the twins and piggy are all the same size, and they are ok with each other. and thers plenty of foliage.

I was already impressed with your build. But your whole setup says a lot about your commitment to care, cleanliness, organization, and overall love for you cham family. Very impressive.

Now I really like the idea of a bug drawer. I have been trying to figure out a way to manage 6 different types of feeders and have not had luck. I think my local Ikea is going to get a visit from me today. Great idea!

We have not perfected our care enough to step into the roach thing yet. Those silk worms that I ordered last week came in, and they are all an inch long or larger. I was expecting smaller because that's we ordered. Now having bigger ones we need to feed what we can and decide what to do with the ones that are too large for our little guy. This may expedite some unexpected silkworm breeding, or at least trials at it.

Sorry I just realized that I'm starting to hijack your thread with a food discussion, I'll stop here.:)

i would do silkworm breeding.

Yeah....keeping roaches in your house seems strange doesn't it? I mean usually you don't want them in there.......lol
