cage size for baby

Hello,
As you may know I will be getting a baby veiled chameleon in the next week or so.
We met with the breeder yesterday and saw all his babies and of course fell in love with all of them!
My question is:
Is it true I should start him off in a small cage and in like 6 months or so move him to the large one? I was planning of starting him off in the large in order to somewhat be cost effective and not have to buy several cages.
I believe he said they are currently about 4-6 weeks old.
:D

Starting with a smaller one may be better because it won't have a hard time finding food on free range. But if you're cup feeding that might be oka to just get a bigger cage

Thank you. I was planning to hand or cup feed him, from the start to get him used to me :D
