I think Calciworms are called pheniox worms in America, but I'm from the uk and was wondering if I can use Calciworms as a main feeder?

We have a calciworm here to. And they do not make good staple feeders. Not sure about phoenix worms or if there one in the same or not.. but I havent personaly heard of It making s good staple

Yea best left as treats. I could be wrong. but its gonna probably be there Tuff to digest or there too fatty. Or have to much or two little of simething that prevents them from being a good staple diet.

Calciworms are Pheonix worms. I have fed Pheonix as a staple feeder for my smaller Chams for about a month ( i had a large amount i got from a expo). Didn't have any issues at all. I didn't even have to dust since they carry a fair amount of calcium ( hence the name). I wouldn't worry too much about them, i think they are a great feeder.

But varity is key, so offer different feeders options to your Chams.

I was actually just looking at the "calciworms" a few minutes ago for my new baby beardie!

They definitely look like Phoenix worms to me (My understanding is that "phoenixworms" as a brand has a proprietary feeding regiment. To be technical). What I find interesting is why out of all of the feeders out there, solder fly larvae are branded and not named by species or common name. Very weird....

My cham does not get very excited about them. We will see how the beardie does.

I saw these at petco the other day and when I opened up the container huge flies flew out at my face and scared me! I believe they are called soldier flies.
