Camiezone babies from Homer and Big Girl

Like I said I worry about mouth injuries and my lack of a proper reptile vet near me. lol And after watching a chameleon choke on a full sized hornworm and then gag it back up I will never go there. Not to mention full sized hornworms bite really hard and do not like to let go. I wish I still had the pic of my finger after one bit me and drew blood.
OMG! I knew they could hold on to things tight but didn’t know they bite that hard!

That's for hydration. Bolt is still getting 10 feeders a day. His casque is really full. I'll post pics tomorrow. It might be time to change his feeding schedule. He's eating crickets, grasshoppers, silk and horn worms. I will try dubia again but I've had no success with him eating dubia.
That's what I thought, so I got all confused when I read that he just eats 2 worms a week, lol. I was thinking, I know she spoils that boy rotten, am I missing something?? Lol

Bolt wears his heart on his sleeve!
@Camiezone Bolt has a heart on his skin!🥰

Everything I read said hornworms don't bite but in my opinion anything with a mouth can bite and y'all are proof! I disable both ends of hornworms by squeezing them with tongs. It is a bit barbaric but oh well!
Yeah whatever you read lied lol. Hornworm bites can cause mouth rot for chams. They tend to grab on pretty good. And when the cham targets them from the back end the worm can whip around and latch on. I whack em a bit to disorientate them if I feel they are a risk to Beman. Then he can take them down without me worrying.

I am glad Picasso doesn’t like hornworms. It is one less worry for me. 🙂

Yall increase your feeder size so much faster than I ever did with growing babies. Heck I still keep Beman on 1/2 inch sized feeders to avoid mouth injury :hilarious: Yes, I may be a helicopter cham-parent though.
This is mean but I wait until the biggest hoppers molt and feed them off. They’re so soft and chewy for Bert and Tony. And the superworms too. When I see a white superworm I get giddy like ooooo here you go guys!

I like the idea of disarming them. Maybe a quick snip of the scissors to take off the mandibles. I did this with cicada killers, removed their stinger with scissors. I feel like Sid from Toy Story when I do it.

When I give my adults their weekly treat, a giant hornworm, their absolute favorite treat. I always hand fed the worm face first, sometimes I squeeze their face first, but knock on wood, so far haven't had any incidences happen. I snip of the butt spear, with scissor. They actually also eat superwoman face first only. I think Chameleons may be smarter than I realize. Hmmm

Hello everyone! Hercules has begun shedding today!!! I've been looking at all your posts and it is amazing how different all of the babies look!!! I can't wait to see how he looks after this shed. Bonnie should start shedding soon too -- she is just the sweetest little girl I have ever had. Her personality is so docile and sweet, I talk to her in the morning and she comes to the front of the cage to say hello whenever I walk by. 🥰

Aweee they are both looking amazing. Wow Bonnie looks beautiful, love that deep maroon/purple color she's showing and am so happy to hear that she's a sweetheart. How about Hercules? Is he friendly?
Cudos on being a amazing caretaker 🥰
