I put a humidifier in front of an open basement window, about 12 feet from his enclosure for a night time temp drop and humidity. The temps have been hitting the high 30’s F at night here in the northeast US, and with lowwww humidity. Having the window open a crack at night drops my basement temp to 62-65 F. Works better than the AC and gives me some good ambient humidity. I can’t believe how hard it is to cool and humidify my basement in these cold winter months. My home and water heaters are down there so I think that warms up the basement. The grasshoppers love it in that warm back utility room! The cool air coming in from the window catches the steam and carries it into the basement. It’s fun to watch like a little fog bank. This arrangement only gets me to 45% ambient humidity in the basement but his enclosure goes up to 75%. I may invest in a fogger for these dry winter months.
His urates are OK because he’s a good drinker, and I stepped up the mistings and silkworms. He’s getting a horn worm tomorrow.

I'm in Texas. I also use a humidifier at night to bring my ambient temp to 68 for Bolt (panther) which allows me to run the fogger all night and a 2 minute misting session giving him 85% humidity. Carmelo (Veiled) benefits from the cool temp and mister for his humidity. I don't fog Carmelo. He does not need the constant high humidity at night. I feed the boys 2 hornworms or 2 silkworms a week. I run a dripper 12 hours a day (awake hours).

Your only feeding Bolt 2 items a week?? He still just a growing teen, won't he eat dubias?

That's for hydration. Bolt is still getting 10 feeders a day. His casque is really full. I'll post pics tomorrow. It might be time to change his feeding schedule. He's eating crickets, grasshoppers, silk and horn worms. I will try dubia again but I've had no success with him eating dubia.

I have 2 sides covered in coroplast. He may benefit from having a third side covered during the winter.

Yeah he is getting a bit plump in the casque. If he were mine I would look at total length right now at 7 months old as well. You still want to give him what he needs for growth but based on his casque he is getting more than he needs for growth and is building up fat storage. And your feeding what size feeders and how many every day?

He gets 10 feeders a day. He eats a mixture of grasshoppers, crickets, hornworms and silkworms. I'm gonna reintroduce dubia this week. He has turned down bsfl, dubia, superworms, mealworms and everything else.
I would go ahead and take him down to 7 feeders a day. How large are the feeders your giving now?

10 feeders wow! I’m lucky if Bert eats 3. He has really slowed down.
