Can You believe this!!

Wow, that is horrible! I cannot believe the ignorance on the side of the seller... especially considering the wealth of information out there on how to properly take care of them...

should we email them with some proper info? If that is the way they are telling their customers to care for their chameleons, they are probably all dead within a matter of time.

Wow...that truly is terrible...it's like they commissioned a 5th grader to just make some stuff up about reptiles in general and said "ta-dah!" It doesn't even mention UVB...

Please someone email them something they can use! If you tell them it's not right but make them do the revision it will probably never happen.

These people most likely know better......they just dont give a "rats arse" about it......they probably figure that if proper husbandry is given, that it would scare people away and their chams wont sell........

I doubt that, I don't think they are giving false information intentionally, I think Carol is right they should be notified.

Ive done business with that site before. My experience wasn't that great. I purchased two Red eyed tree frogs from them, and one of them came sick and died that same night. Luckily the other one didn't catch it. They replace it no problem, but that still shouldn't have happened at all. Read up reviews on this site and you can see why they aren't the best to buy from.

Typically I look at these kinds of threads and really just ignore them. I mean lets face it there are a thousand differing opinions out there and one mans success is another man's failure. I have had extensive experience with this particular distributor and have nothing but good things to say about him. His approach to keeping reptiles is different than yours. Remember he is caring for and selling hundreds of different kind of animals. He is not out to give bad advice and then have his customers come back angry. He has helped me tremendously with the keeping of my Jackson's, and he is very knowledgeable in the husbandry of his animals. He has always replaced and made good any problems I have had. Like Pilotman's frog. He replaced the animal. Animals in the pet trade come in with all kinds of ailments and he has a vet that examines them all. Yes he has wild caught specimens, yes his instructions on the web are rather spartan, but in all honesty I am sure that when you bought your last car the dealer did not tell you all of the nuances involved with the keeping the car in top condition. IMO it is the person buying the animal that has the job of getting up to speed on the husbandry of their animals. I researched for six months before I took the plunge. I may be in the minority here and I know I am not nor do I profess to be an expert on keeping chameleons. I love this forum and the things I have learned from it. I am however many times shocked at how judgmental people are. There is always more than one way to skin a cat.

Ehh, while i wouldnt go so far as to give the guy a favorable review on his husbandry info page. Ive seen alot worse. Its basic info and while the substrate section is something to be ignored he glossed over alot of the basic husbandry needed. Cant believe he didnt mention uvb though.

Bottom line the guys a reptile wholesaler. He sells lg quantities of many diff species. Your going to see things like that when dealing with ppl who dont SPECIALIZE in chams. If you dont think the seller cares about his animals he sells move on to the next option. Just that simple. If you truly are passionate about trying to save animals in his care. Politely inform him he's missing numerous husbandry issues in his care page and explain this is prob costiing him potential sales from knowlegeable herpers. Bottom line is always the sale with ppl in businesses like that.

I have contacted him in the past and I informed him, he was very kind about it and he offered to let me write up new ones, I posted a thread about it and he was offering payment for the articles based on how well they where written.
