Can you guys tell me a little about Panthers?

So i was wondering about panthers?
Like how different are they from keeping a veiled, i ve read up on them its just i would like some personal experiences as well!
K so i would like toknow all the basics, cage set up, how to tell male from female, and EVERYTHING LOL

As well as
what is with the words, ambilobe, ambanja, and nosy be?
Arent they all the same ..Panthers?

the words you are referring to are locales (where they come from, usually associated with the nearest city). i've never kept a veiled but from what i've seen they're pretty similar with a few differences in humidity and temperature.

for details, use the search feature on this site and you'll find more than enough info on keeping panthers. Also, just read through the enclosures portion of this message board and i think you'll find topics on what's right and wrong on nearly every other thread for panthers. check some of the sponsors' sites as well. the vast majority of those selling panthers have guidelines for husbandry as well.

Females are usually peachy colored, males will start showing color at the age of 4-5 months making it pretty easy to determine sex, males also have a pronounced hemipenal bulge and are much larger than females.

Nosey Be, Ambilobe, etc are all different towns in Madagascar, which ever town they are nearest too, that is known as their "Locale" There are differences in color and slight differences anatomically, Ive noticed that Nosey Be's snout is more downwards curved shaped and is one of the smaller locals. While Ambanjas are some of the bigger types and have a more pronounced tip on their snout.

i guess biggest difference from Veild to Panther husbandry is that they dont eat any plant or vegetable matter as far as i know or have heard of.

Well I don't own a veilded, but I do have to say that my Ambanja is VERY friendly....more friendly then my Nosy Be female

I have to disagree, I think Panthers are less agressive than Veiled in general, there are of course always the exceptions.
