Canadians...HELP!!!

Ok, I know you're all going to say TOLD YA SO but my flexarium's seams are coming undone. Seems those %(#*(% carpenter ants chewed through and started a chain reaction.

Anywho, I know lllreptile is fabulous but I need a cage here asap. Getting it over the boarder is going to take time that I don't think I have. The cage is actually being held together with duct tape and sewing thread. It looks like it'll hold for a bit, but getting stuff over the boarder can take WAY to long.

Anyone know of a canadian online store that carries aluminum screen cages and can ship fast or a store withing southern ontario that has them for a good price? I'd like to get something comparable to lllreptiles ones.

P.S. I'm going to try to contact lllreptile tomorrow to see if they can get it too me any faster but incase they can't (and I'm not holding my breath) I'd like a backup plan

If I were still in Michigan full time, I'd bring it to you :) I used to love going to London and Stratford on the weekends. If you knew someone in Port Huron, ship it to them and have em bring it across.

But yeah, USPS is the best bet for shipping to Canada.

UPS/Fedex will hit you with HUGE brokerage fees for customs, and take a while to get there.

USPS usually clears in a day through customs, without broker fees.

Brokerage fee via USPS / Canada Post is $5... waaaayyyyyyy cheaper than brokerage fees with UPS and it should clear in 24 - 48 hours. Thats been my experience with numerous shipments.

If have a way to get to Kitchener Global exotic pets is there and sell the reptibreeze aluminum mesh cages in several sizes. Here is the web site
http://www.globalexoticpets.com/
His name is Rob. Give him a call, they will ship but not sure on prices.

I've ordered the LLL cage (global didn't have the 48") and let's cross our fingers it gets here quickly. Our local stores don't have anything but flexariums and would take a week to get here anyway. So LLL it is. Got the big one too, looking forward to it's arrival.

As for the craptarium, we've sewed up the seems as best we could. I had a spare plastic liner for it that seems to be keeping the bottom seam tear under control along with the duct tape. With the tear one of the zippers came off and we can't seem to get it back on (the instant freying it does) but seem to be doing alright with just the one.

I'm amazed how everything snowballed into a now, useless cage. If you read this post and are thinking of getting a flexarium...spare the 10:30 at night frantic re-sewing of your beloved chameleon's home and spend the extra little bit to get an actual good cage.

LOL, I hope you havent predicted the near future for me. My flexarium is holding out so far, no freying, but the zippers get 'sticky' from time to time. Considering some veg oil spray on them to keep them smooth.
Other than that, no problems so far. *X's fingers* :)

Hope so too for ya. Watch the inside near the zipper, mine started to stick but that was from a small thread that was pulling up. It was the sign of things to come I think.

Will do, thanks! By the way, Very Funny thread Title, had me thinking...

"Help...Canadians!" *are coming!* :D

you need a contingency plan.... rip the door off a kitchen cupboard and staple some fly screen . Should do the trick for a few days....LOL

:D looked around for a funny pic to illustrate my humorous interpretation of your title, saw that and just had to post it! Funniest cartoon Ive seen In while!

Good luck, hope your flex holds a bit longer and your new cage arrives soon
best wishes :)

Wonderful, he loves it. We ended up finding a big hibiscus tree on sale for $15 at Home Depot that fills the whole upper part of the cage. Since he's so small I've kept all the vines and plants to the top part of the cage. He doesn't get lost that way :)

It was a great suggestion, thanks for the help :)
