Carpet chameleon importing across BC border from Washington state?

I really want a male and female carpet chameleon. I haven't been able to get a hold of any in Canada that aren't preorder. Anyone know of any breeders in Canada selling currently? I know it will be costly but my heart is set.

If not, im thinking of finding some in the states. My plan would be to have them shipped to the closest possible US border shipment centre. Then I would drive across and bring them to Vancouver.

What would this process look like? Do I need a permit if I'm just keeping them as pets? Cost? Permit type? Anyone with similar experiences?

I don't know what species they are working with but you could contact Tamara Anderson, Chris Young or Alex Peach. Each are breeders in Canada.

Frank Payne is a great mentor with Lateralis. He also has a great episode on the Chameleon academy podcast.
Chameleons Canada has some coming this summer. They're usually jn greaf shape, but as wild caught, be prepared to do the work to acclimate them.
