One of our carpet females was looking extra colorful today so I figured I would take a few pictures of her to share with everyone. I love the last one :p

Carpet Chameleons are so called because their patterns resemble detailed handmade oriental carpets. I do love your photographs and the focus on the head and eye, which is important in nature photography, is fantastic. However in this set of photos your shallow depth of field does not show off what Carpet Chameleons are all about. Let's see that pattern in all its detailed glory.

Ask and you shall receive Trace! I will see what I can do this weekend for you :)

Beautiful! After I've fulfilled my obsession with Panthers (Will that EVER happen...?) I want to get Carpets next!

Hahaha, I don't know if that is possible. I do have two pairs currently available ;) ;)

NOOO don't tempt me! My girlfriend will kill me. One thing at a time! Have the Ambilobe Breeding pairs...next Nosy Be and Amabanjas....THEN maybe Carpets :). I need to kick my son out of his bedroom and turn it into a Cham room.

WOOT! I love me some Carpets.

The Carpets are hard to photograph I find, at least with my limited amount of lenses and accessories. They aren’t very big so you have to get in close to get a nice photo but then you lose the pattern. If I stepped back to get it all in then they seemed lost in the frame. Of course they never sat still either to get that portrait I wanted.

As I said, your focus on the eyes and head is fantastic and colours just pop. You really do a nice job with your photos.

Lol, nothing against your son but I do have some nice Nosy Be's right now too :p

Additional Pictures

Trace, I tried my best to take some full focus pictures. They were both being difficult and were extra camera shy so they are not the best but still shows off those classic carpet patterns.

Wow, now those are outstanding! There is a big difference in quality between these new pictures and the first ones you did – to me anyways.

I love the minty colour the males get; you captured that very well. Thanks for sharing! :D
