Chameleo Estevez has escaped

Well, I have horrible news to share.
Chameleo Estevez has been missing for a few hours.
His cage has been fine this entire time, but today somehow he managed to jimmy his way out of it. Perhaps a latch was looser than it looked, or perhaps he pushed his way out. I have no idea.

Everyone in the house and even our neighbor have been looking for him since he has been missing. We even trimmed the bushes down to give us a better vantage. The closest bushes are a good 8+ feet tall, so I was hoping he would head there. Nothing is stopping him from running on the ground to the 25 foot tall trees a dozen feet away.

We're going to try using some flashlights in a few minutes when the sun finishes falling, but I am going to try to be realistic. Wish us all luck.

First off... let me say that I love the name you chose for him. Kind of like my canary that I named Shan Cannery.
Second...I feel like you are going to find him, no matter the amount of time that goes by. I think he's closer than you might be looking toward. Best of luck to you finding him soon as possible!

Good luck! I hope you fin him safe and sound.

It seems he is outside? Try using a leaf blower and blow on the lower parts of the bushes. It will scare him and drive him to the tops. Water also works. Some of my chams god out in the backyard and this method worked for me.

Good luck!

Chris, Sorry to hear about the escape. I had a jacksons escape and I looked for him every morning when I thought he would climb up high to get some morning sun, eventually I found him that way. So, get your binoculars out and check in the morning too.
Joe had luck with putting a female out for his veiled, and he came right back. Maybe someone has a girl they can let you borrow too.
Good luck and don't give up!

Oh, sorry to hear 'bout it. But I hope you'll find your chameleon- you know, the hope dies last- I've heard a story about a chameleon which escaped in Spring and his owner found him after the leaves fell down and he couldn't hide anymore in Autumn and he was pretty healthy and OK!
So even if you will not find him today...

I hope you find him soon. I think the female bait idea will work best. His name is too great for him to be lost. The fury must live on!

O no.. I just found out about this right now.
I concur with Benny.
Perhaps, borrow a female panther and show her off in hope that Estevez will be interested.

Keep looking and looking and looking. Do not give up. He's out there and if you keep looking you can find him.

I was in shock when you told me yesterday, night is the best time to search because they stay put to roost. Hope you find him and someone can lend you a lady.

best of luck, Danny

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I have been trying like mad to find him.

Kayleigh and I have been looking all day, with help from neighbors and family.
We tried putting food out, misting, tearing high and low with ladders and stepstools.

Have very high powered flashlights. I searched all night. We have a serious amount of foliage here, but I am hoping he stayed in the bushes next to his cage. They have good coverage, bugs, and height.

He has alot of grasshoppers, katydids, and beetles to feed on at least. But it is quite hot out without anyone misting him. We are very worried.

I am beginning to become desperate. If anyone local to me has a female I can borrow, I would love it.

Sorry to hear of Houdini's escape, Hope you find him soon, thinking of you!
If anyone in Chamsitters neighbourhood or local area can help him out with the loan of a female, or just to search, please be kind and do so.
Fingers x'd for ya mate! :)
