Chameleo "The Fury" Estevez, update and move Gigantapost

Hey everyone,

Chameleo Estevez has been growing at light speed. He made the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs. That is how fast he is.

I wish I was exaggerating when I say he has new colors and size everyday, but it is true. I can't believe how fast he is growing.

He was getting very upset in the 18x18x36 these past 2 weeks. Especially over the past few days. So it was time for a move into the big house.

He has also grown from slightly aggressive, to highly aggressive. He chills once he is out, but man, getting him out, terrible for both of us. He just barely broke my skin earlier this week. I've learned how to pick him up without getting bit, but it's never going to be fool-proof. He can whip around so fast!

Bought 2 new sheffs yesterday. Spent the day cleaning his old cage, feeder bins, potting new plants, and other chameleon related activities. By the time I was done, he was wiped out, so I just threw the plants inside free range style and let him crash out. After talking it over, I decided this morning to put him in a cage this morning. Not done yet though, gotta put some lateral branch action and stuff.

edit: You can see my thread about his completed enclosure here.

While he was out, my other half grabbed our little digital camera and snapped some photos. The thing takes phenomenal photos as long as you are in natural sunlight.

Last but not least, Chameleon walk!

I entered Chameleo in the Photo Contest as well. It was a picture from a few weeks before this one. Hopefully he can win himself half a misting system.

Chamelleo needed a strip of red carpet in that grass to strut his stuff! Great pictures too! He is really turning itno a handsome little devil. Great work!:)

Chameleo "The Fury" Estevez - That name cracks me up! About spat out my drink on to my keyboard the first time I read it....

Aww! He's growing nicely! I love the 'pink rostral' shot best! The Panthers make me laugh cos it looks like they've got false teeth in where they have white scales above their lips!:D

He is looking really good! I like the soft blues. You guys are great chameleon keepers. Keep up the awesome work.

What a Beauty!

Hey Chris and Kayleigh,

Chameleo is looking absolutely gorgeous. I love those blues! How does he like his new "upgraded" bachelor pad?

P.S. "The Fury" has quite the package already.

Great pics!! he is def a beauty!! good luck on the half a misting system!!:D
Thanks! There is some tough competition, so I am not expecting too many results. Hand misting is half the fun I suppose, more personal.

He needs a team of misfit hockey playing tweens to whip into championship shape, too! Thank you for the compliments.

We aim to please. Glad something about him can be funny, cuz he is very serious. Seriously angry and seriously awesome.

Panthers totally have ridiculous mouths. His pink rostral is our favorite. I don't know if it'll darken up with age, but we love how flush it looks all the time.

Thank you for the compliments. We both put in alot of effort, and it is really nice seeing it pay off.

So ya went with the cage.... good man! :D
Enclosure megapost coming soon. Kind of glad I didn't put him into the cage until this morning though. He was back in his little cage outside basking for most the day. Fixing up his cage took longer than I thought it would, but the payoff was nice, wait till you see it.

HE HATES IT! He hates everything though, I am sure he'll start digging it by tomorrow. Dude, he is a package, sperm plugging, moody teenager, machine.

He's looking great! I just love how they walk!!!!
Me too, if there was an award for most paranoid walker, chameleons would get it.

That was an awesome post!

wow... what a stunner... I can't believe how fast he grow.. that little cutie..
So, are you ready for a second chameleon, yet? perhaps, Estevez's soul mate? :)

Thanks a bunch. Not even the same chameleon from last time you saw him, huh?

Sadly, no Molly Ringwald's in his future yet. Perhaps someday, in the mean time though, it is bachelor city for him!

I may try my hand at another species eventually though, not as soon as you hope though :)
You did point out that space however....

He's looking sweet. I still have one of his twins and was shooting some photos yesterday. I see some red developing on their front half at least. You can see it really easy on the leg, but I notice it a little on the "underskin" on the front body too. I guess it's a wait and see thing though:D

He's looking incredible!

Have you noticed that the red patterns on his face almost look like the old flag of Japan with the rays of the sun coming from his eyes? It looks really gorgeous, I don't think I've seen that pattern before!

I love your enclosure, I've been thinking about upgrading to that model myself. I see that you suspended the dripper in his cage using a climbing hook. Might I ask how you rigged that?

Also, why put the dripper inside his cage? Does he like to drink directly from the spout or something?

Post more pictures when you get the enclosure finalized!

I was going to name one of his brother Kamikaze:cool:, but then I remembered I don't really name my chams:D

That was more of a mockup. The finished deal can be seen here.
The dripper is hanging from a zip tie. I can't lead the drips where I want them too from the top of the screen, so I am probably going to jimmy one up with a hose later.

Thank you for the compliments, I really appreciate them. He does look like a little rising sun warrior, doesn't he?

The reds are really popping. You did an awesome job breeding and raising these guys. His color is absoluetly jaw dropping most of the time. He is always showing off too. I can't wait to see the variances in the siblings.

He gets called Cham-Wow more than anything in the end. Makes you say wow everytime!

Not a fan of double posting, but today Chameleo Estevez decided to hand feed.
I have to thank Ponders for some very simple yet effective advice.

Out of nowhere he decided supers were super enticing and snatched 2 up from my hands. I was blown away. I have been trying this forever, and now I can finally associate something good along with myself. As opposed to being that annoying guy who cleans his cage or takes him out for sun.

Hey Chris,

Cool beans!!! What kind of suggestions helped you to get him eating out of your hands?
