Chameleon Arrived This Morning!!!

Got him from Bruce at Chameleon Paradise. Hes 3.5 months, male panther from the Primo/Candy bloodline. He looked great upon arival, he was a little cold but we had a cold night. Hes in his enclosure warming up, il feed him in a little bit. Took a couple of quick pictures, but i'm trying to let him rest and relax.

I have a new colony of Crickets, Dubia, Silkworms, and a small inventory of phenix worms, and horn worms. So i hope he is hungry.

I will keep updating on him, such as a name. I had one in mind but it appears his brother was given this name. So i'm digging deep for a new one.

He eat well, he poops once a day. He just finished his first shed with me yesterday. He still hasn't gotten anymore colorful, but I didn't expect it over night.

He gets taken outside once a day, he seems to like it. And it is helping us get comfortable with each other.

Horn worms were the only thing he didn't seem to like much. He would only attempt very small ones, and even then he only eats MAYBE 1 of them a day. He loves everything else.

I'v noticed that he doesn't like the mister. I have the water heated to 90-95F But it still feels cold as ice when it comes out. I have it running every hour and a half for 30 sec. Since it only allows 8 cycles per day. It was at 50 seconds but i can tell after it starts he gets annoyed with it.

So i'm building a Controller system for him. It will control his lights, mister, water heater, ect. I'm thinking about adding a slow dripper to it as well, for when hes thirsty. Just got the computing parts for it, the rest will be here Tuesday. Much less than 440$.

Im interested on where you got your controller parts and how much you have to customize in order to connect. I service espresso machines i can understand the tech talk...please let me know!!

That website sells the temp/humid sensors, and the relays if you just want an easy way to purchase them. But other than that they offer the software for controlling things for free. The raspberry ranges from 20-50$ depending on what features you want it to have, and where you order it from. The sensors were 20, the relays were 20, i expect to spend another 20 or so for the outlet box, and face plate, ect.. So Im in about 120-150. I haven't decided how to house the system yet. But something inexpensive id imagine.

So far i have the raspberry up and running, and i will get the sensors and relays tomorrow. So i should have something working in the next few days.
Audrino boards have some options for controlling our systems also.

Im in the middle of it. I have the Pi, its wired to 3 temp/humid sensors, and i have a couple relays wired to it with regular outlets on them. So i can use it to control things, and tell me temps.. Im a complete noob to programming so my progress has greatly slowed now that im at the point of needing to program it to do what i want.

I've been talking with the guy from that website, hes been pretty helpful so far. I just need a much more elegant code for a chameleon, than he does for his frogs.

If anyone on here wants to do some programming let me know, I can make it worth while.

Some update pictures!
Still have not decided on a name, but he is still warming up so im not worried.

Gonna be moving to a larger cage soon, He doesn't seem to have enough room to roam. And this 16x16 barely has room for all my lights and mister, and dripper on top.

I ordered the Dragon Strand 23x23x48 Breeder style, So it will be part screen and part pvc so i can hold humidity better.
