I know it is necessary... the nearest vet to me is like 30 minutes and it will cost me more to fix him then to get a new one@SpIKe6535 as @kinyonga just said, this is the third post you have done. We walked you through things you needed to do on the first thread and you have now been told that he needs to see a vet in all three of these threads. He needs to have a fecal done to check for parasites. At this point a vet visit is a necessity.
Yea but it would be a shame if you got a new one and the same thing happen again (in my opinion) its better to find and fix the issueI know it is necessary... the nearest vet to me is like 30 minutes and it will cost me more to fix him then to get a new one
Whoa! WHAT??!! These are animals! Pets! They are NOT EXPENDABLE!! You need to SERIOUSLY re-think your intentions here! Spare the poor animal from torture. Get him to the vet and tell them you dont want him anymore. The DON'T get any more!! @Brad this post from the OP is really disturbing!I know it is necessary... the nearest vet to me is like 30 minutes and it will cost me more to fix him then to get a new one
Also there isn't a vet near me... also do you really think I don't want him ?? I do want him , if I didn't want him I wouldn't be in this form is in the first place so stop saying things that are not trueWhoa! WHAT??!! These are animals! Pets! They are NOT EXPENDABLE!! The issue was that when I got him two years ago Petco told me the wrong things because I didn't know these forums existed at the time so then this happening I honestly blame the pet storeYea but it would be a shame if you got a new one and the same thing happen again (in my opinion) its better to find and fix the issue
No troll just generally concerned The vet is very far from me and is expensive i am trying to give him a bath right now so hopefully that the issues is dehydrationSpike...quit making one new thread after another about the same chameleon. You've been told to take the chameleon to the vet...you've been told what supplements to use...etc....etc. All I can say at this point is that if this is your chameleon in the photos it needs to go to the vet ASAP....but the longer this goes on the more I'm thinking TROLL.
I think he might be dehydrated but the thing is I've tried and get them to eat other things and he won't eat...Also I read your last post. He's refusing his food? He could possibly be bored with the food you are feeding him and trying to wait you out for something better. However given his dehydration situation and such I wouldn't bank too much on this idea. But it is still a possibility. Get him some live plants so he can feel like he's really hidden in there. Also what's your temps and humidity looking like. That plays a big part in their health too aside from gut loading the food you feed him and dusting said food.
Then why would you even think twice about going to the vet? Let alone post that? You should stop sitting in front of a computer and make the trip. Your cham is in very serious condition. It is skin and bones, and will certainly continue to decline without an experienced exotics vet. I wish you luck. I just hope it's not too late. Also there isn't a vet near me... also do you really think I don't want him ?? There isn't a vet near me! And there very expensive. And actually I'm not on my computer I'm on my phone so I can take it anywhere (Possibly the vet) so stop assuming things please thanksThen why would you even think twice about going to the vet? At the very least, you should take this animal to the vet or surrender him to an animal rescue familiar with chameleons.I know it is necessary... the nearest vet to me is like 30 minutes and it will cost me more to fix him then to get a new one
I see where you're coming from i'm not trying to be cruel saying it's cheap , and I do love him, and if it comes down to it I might have to get a new one (if it comes down to that) do you think I want him to suffer of course not , but if I were to get a new one it wouldn't replace him.At the very least, you should take this animal to the vet or surrender him to an animal rescue familiar with chameleons.
The fact that you think of living, breathing, feeling things as disposable makes me wonder why you would even consider purchasing another animal. The initial cost of the animal shouldn't dictate whether or not it receives medical treatment.
I understand that sometimes, when it comes down to it, cost and viability can make a decision to put down an animal a necessity. But to let an animal suffer because it was "cheap" is just cruel and irresponsible.
