chameleon dying ?

Never give a cham a bath, only shower. Chams do not swim and will get all stressed out if put into a pool of water. Sorry to hear about your animal. If you plan on getting another one please do a lot of research and save some money for when a vet visit is required. Vet bills can be the most expensive part of having an animal.

Well I meant shower not bath sorry about that. Like I misted the shower head on to the wall so it would go on him. I have money for the vet. But my mom didn't want to pay for it and wanted it to die in piece. Yes I'm not old enough to drive.

Ok. If I were you I would do more research on cham care.

You have the resource info now, and know not to listen to those PETxx. I think you can do it. There are members and sponsors here that are breeders and sell chams. Sorry for your loss, but don't give up.

Firat and foremost, I am sorry you lost your cham. Secondly, I apologize for offending you. That was not my intent. I think you and everyone else on the forum will agree that I am very passionate about my cham and all chams in captivity. Unfortunately, the forum often gets people who have nothing better to do than "troll" around the internet to see what kind of trouble they can stir up just because they think it's fun. And when you get mixed up with so many passionate people, tempers flare quickly. I am glad you are learning from your experience and are willing to remain humble. Most big box pet stores don't have a clue on how to properly care for/house their animals. They believe that it's acceptable to cram as many tiny cages into an area, crammed full of animals who are not receiving proper care and nutrition. But the worst part of this is that they turn over the animals so fast, that they don't get to see the harm they have caused. Why do you think they only offer a 7 day guarantee? Because they know that the quality of their animals isnt good, but they don't care, so by having a ridiculously short guarantee, they can get away with it.:cautious: (And don't even get me started on their saltwater fish guarantee-more specifically, THE LACK THEREOF!) But there I go gettin' all passionate again. o_O Anyway, back to my long-winded-point. Unfortunately, you fell into their trap. But thankfully, you have found a far better place to seek knowledge, and I do hope you take full advantage of it!(y) This is an amazing forum for serious keepers and enthusiasts. And you are welcome! :coffee:

This is the little girl who I had to walk away from just last week. This was one of those big box stores, where I actually used to work! Luckily I have had much experience with many different types of animals since childhood. She was probably BARELY 4 wks old. Borderline age to ship and sell. They wanted $79.99 for her. (That's a LOT for a Veiled.) They didn't think that there was anything wrong with her. They couldn't stop going on about how cute she was. (Pitiful sales tactic!) Finally, when I pointed out to the associate that something was wrong (and I also taught them how to sex a Veiled and that it could be done the moment they hatch), the FIRST thing the manager said was "Well, aren't they on sale?" The associate and I both said no. And she came back indifferently with, "Well. The best I could do is 10% off." And that was when I really learned that what people here have said is true. They DON'T care about the animals' welfare, and all they DO care about is their profit. Not that their store-level associates see any benefit of said "profit." You look at the picture, and tell me what's wrong there. I can make a list! Then telle if I should listen to a word they say.

Let me tell you how desperately I wanted to try to save her from a doomed fate! That's what these stores count on. Your big heart which makes it nearly impossible to walk out that door.

Now. For a disclaimer: THIS IS GOING TO SOUND HARSH, BUT IT IS THE TRUTH, WITH NO BULL.

Welcome to adult life. It sucks. And you will spend every day wishing you could go back to the age when you had no worries, no stress, no bills, and no miserable job. So please, try to enjoy the rest of your time as a young adult, and learn as much as you can! Before it's too late.

I do wish you the best of everything, and I hope that you visit the forums often!
