hi guys its been a while since iv been on the forums sad to say that the reason i am on now is because of my baby chameleon "Shenron" has been having some eye problems it looks like he has both of his eyes covered with a white substance it was one eye at first but now its both n he does not seem to climb or move much just stays still i figure its because he cant really see

im not sure what exactly to do i have watered his cage plenty n iv taken him out of his cage 2 times to get him to drink water and misted him gently with warm water n for a while it seemed to help. the white substance is gone but as the time passes by it comes back n its the same.

this has been happening for 2 days already and im not sure what to do any more :/

iv taken 2 pictures of him its kind of hard since he was hiding but i tried

also i have not seen him eat probably due to his eye problem :/

any ideas or bits of advice?
it sucks seeing my little guy like that since he was always climbing and being his self.

This happend to my cham as well it looks kinda like puss or eye bugers. I took a warm wet q-tip and gently removed it and put reg eye drops in his eyes and after a few days he was good as new. It occasionally comes back once in a blue

i have an other question he also seems to be bulging out his right side of his eye out n u can tell there is something in there he is triying to get out n he scratches his eye on the branches

I used the clear eyes brand.. I also bought turtle eye drops from petsmart and that helped as well. When hes rubbing his eye like that hes probably trying to get the puss out because its bothering him or he might even have an infection.. If this doesnt work you should consider a vet and they may prescribe him antibiotic eye drops as they did for me once

Thanks for the help,
he seems to be fine for the moment but if the problem persists i will go to the vet

do you know the name of the eye drops they prescribed you?

What's the humidity level in the cage? Has it changed or gotten drier than usual?

You can help him flush and clean his eyelids by squirting at them with sterile saline solution (contact lens rinse solution without added ingredients). The saline will sting less than water.

well no i ussualy keep his cage pretty moist

and i did put some eye solution and i tried the saline solution it helps him iv been doing it for 3 days 2 times a day morning and after noon it helps him for a bit but then he still gets that bulge but he is able to walk around like normal after it goes away for a bit hes a very active little guy

i try to keep him as comfortable as i can until the medicine gets here

The antibiotics was actually for my other panther that i took to the vet for a closed eye that in the end happend to be a vitamin a deficiency but the vet still gave me the drops because they didnt know for sure what it was.
