Chameleon jump

so I've never seen this before but after looking it up, it seems that this kind of thing has been observed before. I left my chameleons cage open so he could climb out onto some bamboo sticks and such and he arrived on top of a clothes hamper about 3 feet from the ground.

All of a sudden I see him propel himself through the air onto the bucket and vacuum head I use for sucking up water for drainage.

I've never seen this before, but it looked like my chaneleon was intentionally on a mission trying to really jump and go somewhere. He pushed off the surface he was on to propel his jump to the next surface. It was very startling!

Back in the spring Tate my little graceful, Chamaeleo gracilis, was jumping. He gets very active each spring like he's looking for a mate. I talk to a friend of mine here in FL and his female Furcifer petteri was also jumping. It's not normal but it can happen.
