It dried up couple days, Maybe some water soluble KY and soak in lukewarm water will do ,or visit a chameleon specialist vet asap.
Ok when you say soak it in water?? How do I do that? Put my chameleon in some water? I didn't know if they liked water like that .It dried up couple days, Maybe some water soluble KY and soak in lukewarm water will do ,or visit a chameleon specialist vet asap.
It wasn't a bite off the leaf it was the way it was hanging. So what kind of plant should I put in there? I am new to this and would take all the help I can get. The closest vet for reptiles is about 2 hours awayI had something similar happen. I used a warm wet Qtip and knocked it off however mines was done already. So whats with the bite off the leaf did he eat it? fake plants are not ideal and especially not silk ones Chameleons wont drink from those. If you done have a real plant he is likely dehyadrated, mine had that happen first day here and it was very very dehydrated.
Then again I am n o expert and mine wasn't like that, the vet may be a good idea.
I kept reading a bunch of the forums on here and found something saying that if I missed him for a little bit with Luke warm water that would help him. Well I did that am he pooped and he was able to rub whatever that was sticking out off! Now he is on the move! Thanks so muchI had something similar happen. I have a pothos that I put in there with him! Since his bowel movement he has been climbing everywhere now that he has some new greenery! He looks a lot happier.Ficus and Umbrella are good and easy to find. If you buy them from walmart or the like however I would clean every leaf and replant in orgainc soil. LLL Reptile does sell those plants already insecticide free though.
I would spray him a lot with water if he is dehydrated thats what I have been doing and it seems to be working . I would recommend either one of those pump then spray misters, or a Misting system (the latter is easier if you can afford it). Spraying by hand the amount you should gets tiring fast. You should be spraying like for like 5 solid mins 3-4 times a day. A dripper would also likely help.
I have read giving them a warm shower helps. Put him on a plant and in the shower and point the shower head against the wall so it splashs on him. Not sure if that is okay at his age, everyone said to do that for adults. I am new too, so take what I say with a grain over others, just going by what I have read.

Thanks so much for everything! It's just a veiled cham, he is just colored real pretty when he is happyVery nice , ya they can tell the diffrence between fake and real. I would put some largish rocks over the soil so he doesn't eat it by mistake. As I have read they can and do, do that. JMO, but I used rounded river rocks (like 3 bucks at walmart) boiled them first. I wouldnt use Sharp rocks in case he falls JMO though not based on anything I have read. It might not matter, just something that concerned me.
Beautiful cham you got there. Is he a trans?
