Chameleon Sleeping Durning the Day

That video was great I set up the bin right away and placed it in her cage. She seems to be waking up a bit and I am still concerned about the water crystal. I will give her a day and if she is not better I am taking her to Dr. Harkeweicz in Berkley. I went to a vet here in plaesanton and she knew and trained under Dr. Harkeweicz.

Nice...

Glad things worked out for you. I think your vet was there when i first took my cham in. Someone was shadowing ken (Dr. H) while he was giving Jasper an exam.

Also, Keep your cham extremely hydrated!!! Get a dripper set up so she always has somewhere to drink. Might want to bump up your mistings a bit too to be on the safe side. You don't want the water crystal to cause any dehydration...Kinda worries me after reading that thread I linked.

Be sure to keep us updated!

I'll turn the dripper I uses a while ago and I'll keep you guys up to date. Thanks for all the advice so far.

Yup no problem.

Just be sure to monitor her. I'm sure your vet won't mind if you call in and ask questions via phone.

As always you have us on the forums :)

bottom line---she needs just one good xray. if there's eggs, they can be visualized whether or not they are calcified, and although a water cube (like the one that caused Lemon's demise) wouldn't show on an xray, an extremely enlarged stomach would and then it would be obvious.

if i had known what was happening with Lemon she would have gone to surgery and i could have successfully removed it, anesthesia on carpet chams notwithstanding. veileds are certainly more hardy when it comes to surgery and anesthesia.

Update: Kiwi is still sleepy and so I will take her to the vet today and get an x-ray to get to see if shes egg bound or its the expanded water crystal.

I hope all goes well at the vets for Kiwi. Are you going to a different vet? Keep us up dated and if you can post the x-rays here.

Yes im going to this guy in Berkeley who really knows his stuff and ill make sure to post the x-rays

it's very easy to photograph x-rays if you don't have a digital file. when they're hanging on the lightbox, just slightly zoom in to flatten the depth of field and take a standard focused shot. the colors may be a bit weird, but since it's monochromatic just a few sliders in any photo editor can make it look perfect and very sharp, and areas can be zoomed into as well as long as you have a decent amount of megapixels.

Update: I have some bad news, I was not able to go to the vet in Berkeley because he is gone until Monday. Meanwhile Kiwi has gone down hill quite quickly its hard to see her like this and not be able to help much. Should I give her water or let her be. Thank You again for all the help.

Unfortunately Kiwi past a way today a little after lunch. It was hard to see her struggle and not be able to help. Thanks everyone again for the help.

I am so very sorry to hear about Kiwi. She was such a lovely little lady. You have my deepest condolences.
