Chameleon tried to hump my hand?

Hello, My veiled, male Chameleon is about 1 year old. He is healthy, friendly, and husbandry is great. He seems to enjoy and initiate to free range in a few different house plants I have, he likes to sit and look out the window. It is adorable... So I noticed a few days ago when I went to take him out of the plant to put him back in his cage he (best way to describe it) rubbed his mouth and chin (if he had on) on my hands he then scooted on my hand, almost like he was cuddling my hand. Weird. So then today he did the same thing but forcefully began grinding his body, and scooting, which can best be described as, I am sorry for lack of a better term but humping. He did not appear angry, or aggressive... Any thoughts? Do chameleons hit a sexual maturity age and have behaviors like this? Or perhaps I am misconstruing the situation and it is something else. I have absolutely no plans to breed him, so I am hoping that if that is what is going on, he will get over it at some point. Thank you in advance!

When a male becomes sexually mature they produce sperm plugs. This is normally around 8 months old. Most times they pass through the butt by themselves. They look like white and sometimes greyish blobs. The only thing to look out for with them is that the dont dry out or else they can't pass them and their 'behind' will prolapse from forcing it out. Then you MUST get it out or go to the vets otherwise bacteria can get in and their anus I guess, can dry out be very painful. This is what I found out last month with my Panther. He's fine now and just passed another by himself. They do tend to rub their butts against stuff to try and get the plug out so that's probably it, or maybe he just want to be loved lol.

Thanks for the info! I haven't noticed anything like that, it is possible that he went through that phase without me noticing.... It is just a strange behavior because typically he will stand up on all four legs when he is on my hand, so to have him pressing his body against my hand and rubbing on me was a bit alarming. He is shedding too so maybe he was just trying to scrap it off on me...
