Chameleon won't come out of his cage

I usually don't bring my veiled out of his cage but I have to get some vines out of his cage to put in his other cage while I go on vacation. I have tried to take them out while he is in the cage but he hisses at me when I try to grab the vine and he keeps crawling on the vine that I need. I need to get him out but he keeps hissing and trying to bite me. Please help!

Try to do it right before he goes to sleep. I ve had mine for almost a year and he still hisses and bites.
I handle him as little as possible and he is much happier.

Just use a stick of some sort and kinda get him to crawl on it in then pull him out... works every time for me.. Or in some cases, i'll use oven mittens like the og gloves lol

I got him out by luring him out with a cricket. But thanks, I will try these methods next time
