Chameleons in Massachusetts illegal?!?!

Chuck Norris is scared of Chameleons.

If you can see Chuck Norris, then Chuck Norris can see you. If you can't see Chuck Norris then you may be mere seconds from death..............:D But he is scared of Chameleons, because their underground terrorist network has so far outwitted all the most sophisticated 'intelligence' gathering of the worlds secret services, as brooklynelizabeth says. It's a serious problem for MI5 and the CIA, I don't know why everyone is joking about it

I just got back from a new pet store in town, a Pet Supplies Plus, and they have chameleons there! Well, they had a spot for some veileds anyway, but they were sold out. I live in Massachusetts so I guess this must mean they're now legal here!! I can't imagine that they'd be selling them illegally at a chain store like that. Although I checked the government websites still say they're "unlawful"... http://www.mass.gov/dfwele/dfw/wildlife/living/keeping_wildlife.htm

the authorities will put you in a cage, mist you and feed you bugs. The reason they r illegal is because in 1942 a pack of crazy killer chameleons went on a rampage and killed 65 people. Haha just havin fun. I dont really know whyy they would be illegal but its prob some stupid reason.

Bahahaha - reading this made my evening!

Just go for it and buy one.

Does anyone seriously think a cop is going to go to court and justify his
citation to a judge!!??

"Your honor, the defendant was in posession of this little green illegal
chameleon!"

LOL!!! that cops buddies will laugh him right out of the force :p
He'll never be able to walk into the men's locker room again :D

As I understand the regulation you provided, it states you can't keep chams as pets without a permit. It does NOT say you can't keep one at all. Check with the shop selling the chams. I suspect they must provide you with a permit application when you purchase the cham. I know that's what NJ used to do. When I bought my first veiled there I was given an application to mail in with my permit fee. It was quite simple.

In all the joking on this thread I actually only just realised why they are classed as 'unlawful'........:D $$$
