Chameleons stolen

Damn Chuck, sorry to hear the bad news:( Im already worried about leaving my chams for the weekend with my roommate and now since they are outside I am really worrying:eek: I hope you find the culprit.

Chuck, it's not your fault. They were on your property! This makes me sick just reading about it. :(

I'd check neighboring stores, etc. and see if someone caught it on video. Walking around with chameleon cages should be easy to spot. Keep us posted. Good luck!

Ive never had the misfortune of having animals stolen, But I feel for both of you, especially given one is the much loved pet of a child ("bad lizard"), Its a low act indeed!

This brings to mind a question I had for Cham keepers elsewhere, Do you guys ever microchip your reptiles? Have databases held by vets etc?
I know some do it here, particularly with expensive snakes, Though im not sure how useful it may be in such circumstances, here theives have been known to check for and even surgically remove microchips.

But atleast if you discovered where your animal was, you have proof its yours.

That sucks big ones dude. Real sorry to hear that.
You know what its like on this coast though. You'll deff find it in craigslist or your local yellowpages.com.
Good luck mann.

i know it was a little kids that jacked me for my tree lizard.
they walk passed my house everyday.

I put up signs warning about what happens to that lizard and the infection it spreads when its not given the proper meds :D

sorry for your loss, if your anything like me it will get under your skin and bother you for a while, esp since it really was our faults and was a costly simple mistake.

i hope they are at the least in the hands of someone who will look up care.

Chuck if you get someone you think has them send someone else to buy them if they are semi local as they may know who they stole them from. Then step in takes pictures, call the cops, get your chams back and hope the sob's go to jail where they belong! That is the ending I hope for, you get healthy chams backs and the *^&%$# pay one way or the other for what they did. I am hoping for you buddy.

I am beyond angry as I post this. I had a couple of my fairly new guys out sunning today. An Ambilobe I picked up from Cain and a beautiful Ankaramy.
I own a gym and 90% of my reptiles are there. I rotate them out back, weather permitting. Obviously it is my fault and I take full responsibility for it,but it doesn't make it any less painful. My concern is for the chameleons and not my financial loss. Some ahole has something he has no idea how to take care of and the chameleon won't make it. Let my stupidity be a warning, don't leave your animals unattended.

WTF! I don't see why someone would do that.

CHuck, i also reccomend you check any local petstores within 50 miles, someone may have a buyer already lined up. crime happened quickly. i don't want to give credit to the theives. but they most likely had a plan when they did this.

signs within the pet stores wouldn't hurt.

perhaps who ever could end up buying them may red flag the guys.

LOL ^^ ciafardo 4 that is too funny..

Chuck im really sorry to hear about what happened and i really hope that everything gets sorted out.

goodluck chuck i hope you catch those punks

Chuck you have your reciepts i assume, that proof of purchase if i were you i would post pictures of another chams that looks like them and say lost chameleon 2000 dollar reward, when the person bring it to you tell them they are lucky you dont call the cops on them and take your cham back.

kinda hard to call someone out like that.

allthough this is a tuff case honestly.

sadly the only thing you can do to take action is to assist the police in every possible way you can.

sang never cooperate you'll get wacked!!!!!!!!

Ciafardo, if you did that to someone who was so desperate they'd steal a chameleon, you'd probably get shot.

Keep the number to the police handy if you do get someone to cooperate with you.

Always meet in a public location and never be alone.
