Chameo Clinic is a series of monthly workshops geared to benefit southern California chameleon keepers as well as website visitors. Over the years, we have offered occasional husbandry workshops and free herp vet clinics for local reptile keepers but now we are providing the same just for chameleon keepers. There will be no charge for chameleon examinations and ChamEO will cover the cost of prescription medications for minor illnesses and injuries.

We are always on the look out for community experts and veterinarians to schedule.

Zoo Med Laboratories has donated many products to help support our community so we will be distributing these products to people who need them during the workshops.

Vet Clinic & Workshop - April 3, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.- We are pleased to present our first workshop with guest herp vet Dr. Attila Molnar from All Animals Medical Center. All workshop attendees are welcome to bring their chameleons for a free examination and treatment. Any chameleon you bring must be contained in its own carrier. We are still looking for a guest speaker. It is not confirmed yet, but Tiki Tiki Reptiles may be our featured vendor for this event. Please call to RSVP. Space is limited but we will try to accommodate as many chameleon keepers as possible.

Weekly Husbandry Workshops - Starting in April, we will have weekly workshops on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. During these workshops you can bring fecal samples for testing, learn how to correct husbandry issues, test your UV lights with our UVB meter, make fruit fly cultures, pick up other feeders. We will also have aluminum screened cages available for purchase.

Anyone interested in attending one of the weekly husbandry workshops must call to RSVP. If we don't receive RSVPs by Thursday, then the workshop will be cancelled for that Saturday. We basically get the day off! :D

For those who wish to help ChamEO, here are some things you can do:

~Make a tax deductible donation to ChamEO, Inc. We have a donation link on our website (www.chameo.org)
~Supply items such as paper towels, slides and cover slips, disposable (non-latex) gloves, chlorhexidine, large pump dispensers of hand sanitizer.
~Provide a slideshow or video presentation.

We will provide updates on any new developments in the coming weeks. Thank you all for your support and encouragement!

As big as the herp community is down here in Texas we have nothing like this available. Thats awsome! Great work, I hope you have a good turnout and to all the ca cham keepers get out there and take advantage of this.

Some day we will go on the road! I may move as slow as a turtle but some day we will get there.

We welcome you! Everythings bigger in Texas, even our chams. lol We'd love to have you come here. East Texas Herp Society is our local herp community but i haven't been active lately. We need events like this as a teaching aid to breeders and enthusiasts.

Congratulations Elisa, this is great for SC, but I don't know where you get all the time and energy, do you eat & sleep?? Wish I was there.

LOL! We humans always find the energy for things we really want to do. Thanks for the kudos. At least next time you come to town it will be more likely that you can attend a workshop. We will have the major workshops monthly and husbandry workshops will be limited to a small number of people and done every Saturday. My neighbors would not appreciate it if I jammed the curbs with parked cars every weekend! :D

Really wish I was in the area to attend. I am looking into getting some gloves for ya still! So far only could get a box.. going to wait until I can get more than that.

Any contributions are appreciated. Thank you very much, Syn. :)

I am considering doing a live video feed but maybe not on the first workshop. We need practice. :) I could be talked into it though. ;)

I am looking forward to these, and I plan to attend. If there is anything you need help with, let me know. I would be happy to help out.

*ahem* PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE! :D

Even if it's not live, a recording would suffice! Don't know how you could distribute that though. :(

With video streaming at least you can see everything, bloopers and all... live! Also there is a chat option. Remember when Tiki Tiki Reptiles did that for their shows?

To distribute a video worth posting on a website, I'd like to have some practice first. Edit the bloopers and such. As for distribution, maybe via YouTube or whatever is commonly used and most importantly... FREE.

My gosh, I'm starting to feel camera shy again.

We should be able to make it down, however that is subject to change on if I have to go back to work or not, however im sure Ryan will probably show up! We would totally do the show videos however the past several have not had good enough internet for it. :(

Proper Disposal of Old UVB Light Tubes

To those of you who will be attending the workshop on April 3rd, please bring your old UVB light tubes and bulbs for proper disposal. On April 10th, there is an Ewaste collection event going on in Santa Clarita that I would like to participate in. Please do not bring broken tubes or bulbs to the ChamEO Clinic.

Thank you.

To accommodate Dr. Molnar's schedule, we have changed the time for this workshop. It will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Please remember to RSVP (818-219-9315) as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly. Thank you!
