So my wife named our chameleon Pascal after the chameleon on the movie Tangled. But i've noticed a lot of chams with the same name. Se we have officially changed his name to Gonzo. What do you think? :D

There is a cham named Dr. Gonzo on here. He is kinda famous on the forum. So if you don't mind sharing your name with a Dr. then you are ok I guess!

I have both a Pascal (Veiled) and a Gonzo (Panther).

Who cares what you call your cham, it's not like he will ever hear you! LOL :D

"Chameleons have the poorest hearing except one species of lacenta from Persia. Shouting next to the chameleon would not arouse him even when he is awake, he disregards most sounds. They only respond to ground or branch borne sounds. How sound is transmitted into the chameleon's ear In the opening of the chameleon's ear, a membrane on the side of the skull called the auditory area registers airborne vibrations and transmits them to a delicate bone structure. Embedded in tissues within the skull, the plate relays the vibration down a twisting and constricted pathway leading to the inner ear.

Chameleons have very limited hearing, tuning in to frequencies between 200 and 600 Hz as compared to most other lizards from 100 to 4000 Hz, and to humans 20 to 20,000 Hz. Chameleons cannot hear danger or food approaching."

Up to you! I think he looks like an Oliver, personally. Don't know why, I think that little male veileds look like Olivers to me!

Gonzo sounds good, it has been used but not anywhere near as much as pascal. Every name I can think of has been used. So I use what I want, forget the world. The last cham I got is named Rah, after the sun god of Egypt.

There are a lot of RANGOs and PASCALs

I have a veiled named Daigan... I have not come across anyone else with a veiled called that :)

I got the name when I use to teach preschool..one of my students was named Daigan and him mom said it was eskimo for "little fish" Never confirmed that but I always thought it was cute

I called one of mine son of a b*$#@ today. That's only because he went for my fingers. His real name is Merlin. LOL

Hahah my hubby wanted to name ours Pascal (we have a 15 month old daughter who LOVES Tangled, and cracks up at Pascal) but I said no because there were probably too many of them.. We named him Solomon! Hehe

Ok, we decided not to go with gonzo. Looks like the family likes Farva! A character off of one of my favorite movies! :D

Can't do that. The chameleon police will arrest you and deport you to Bolivia. True story.
