that was him when i first got him he got way bigger before he went to the big tree up in the sky. but that guy was beautimus!!!

I'll have to see if I can find photos. Digital cameras were in their infancy so all I have is a few kodak photos. These were the first few veileds to ever come in to the USA from Yemen and some were huge. Yes, their grip would draw blood. If they gripped a finger they'd drop you to your knees.

While that is a nice specimen, it is not as "large as his forearm". It is closer to the camera. Note the long branch it is perched on.

Yes it is a nice large specimen. I owned a bigger one named Igor. Mating had to be supervised and even then he killed a female.

Apparently veileds not getting this big in captivity anymore? It's been quite some time since I've kept them.
