Chmaleon won’t eat

My chameleon haven’t eaten any of his crickets in a week. He constantly stalks and hunts and shoots his tongue into the dirt of the plants but won’t touch the crickets in his feeder. Idk what to do

Please fill out the ask for help form. Is he getting sufficient nutrients?

Yes he always had his food dusted properly. He doesn’t seem sick or degydrated. He just isn’t showing any interest in his food

Usually when they try to eat dirt, it can signal vitamin or mineral deficiency. Hopefully it is just a hunger strike. What are you feeding him?

I feed him crickets. And I give him Superworms 1-2 per week. I dust with calcium without D3 every feeding. With D3 every 2 weeks and multi vitamin every 2 weeks

He is going after the small pieces of perlite which I’ve read resemble snail eggs to them. I’ll take care of that but still concerned why he will go out of his way to hunt those and not touch the 10 crickets right in front of him

Has the cage temperature changed? Is the cage near a window? Vent?
Could she be gravid and ready to lay eggs?

Well he is a male so no not Gravid. Not near a window or vent. The temperatures in the cage are low 70s during the day with an 85-90 degreee basking spot. At night temperature drops to about 62. I did move him to a new cage last week. He went from the medium size reptibreeze to now the Dragon Strand Large Clearside Atrium. So I am assuming this is why he’s not eating but it still scares me.

Could be the move to the new cage that's the reason.

If it is the new cage....how long before I should be concerned? And is there something I could be doing to help? He did eat 1 Superwormnfrom my hand 2 days ago but every other time I’ve tried he shows no interest.

He did shed about 5 days ago. Still has a little peeling along his back but still....he hasn’t eaten a cricket in a full week so I get a little concerned
