Thanks for the input, that makes me feel a little better. It definitely did give me scare; I've never seen Ferdinand react so violently to something before. He's always so mellow.
There was a great deal more forceful thrashing before the video started that lasted about a minute. I know the superworm bit his lip, and I do hope that was the cause of the struggle rather than choking - especially since he didn't really seem all that traumatized afterward. I'm keeping an eye on his lip tho (actually my husband is while I'm traveling for work).
Still, not a bad idea to pay a little more attention to his feeder size. Ferdie is pretty small, 45g and about 6-inches snout to vent.
