Considering rescuing a baby vieled from the pet store this week...

those are the ones.

thank God for google translate

Yes yes x) I did the same thing... I just wanted to be SURE those are the same ones. Any idea what size I should get? I was thinking about order a pack of small and medium ones right away and cross my fingers for a Saturday delivery!

that will be fine, i use flukers orange to gutload those.

No idea what kind of oranges those are... if they like fruit, I will give them the pulp and leftover juices from the fresh juice we press every morning :) I'll be sure not to incorporate any kind of fruit chams shouldn't have though!

I'll order the worms now then, hopefully she'll enjoy them. I also hope Marimo will help her eat some... he's picky and tends to only want flies and the occasional cricket.

::EDIT::
Never seen any kind of jarred orange like that... I think I will stick with the pulp each morning if they eat it!

I wouldn't get wax worms. Some go on hunger strike for them and they are very fatty. I have just got curly wing flies they are much bigger than fruit flies and because their wings are curly they can't fly but are quite fast. I have two little ones that are not feeding great and they spend all day hunting these things. They came as pupae and hatched out during the week. You would only need one box. I think you can also get them at fishing shops.

I have the curly wing flies (Marimo only eats those at the moment. Occasionally a cricket, but he's crazy for flies) and I did buy a box of the normal flying flies too. They're fatter and were also for Marimo. I was just thinking a nice worm she can scoop up would be idea. She did eat a couple flies the first day, but since then only drank something...

I've ordered the phoenix worms, not the wax worms :) Those are just the only kind I could get in a shop, the phoenix worms I have to order. The only other option is mealworms, and those aren't very good either!

You may be able to get silkworm eggs and hatch them yourself. If you haven't used them they are a bit of work but worth it. However she may not like them.:)

Silkworms are very rare in Germany (They're considered a pest, so are pretty much mostly illegal to import) and the one place that MIGHT be able to get some can only get them in the summer. I was planning on keeping and breeding them in the future, as I see them being talked about here often as a good source of nutrition. However, we're unfortunately limited in what we can provide.

I'm a bit worried about her now.. I went to check up on her, as I know her grip isn't the strongest yet (I didn't turn on the lights, but rather used the glow of lights from the other room and a weak flashlight pointed away to see.), and she has a hard time grasping branches and sure enough, she was sliding off her sleeping place and trying to get a better hold. But that wasn't what worried me... she got a hold of the branches herself and started opening her mouth a bit, showing her tongue. When she closed her mouth, some clear liquid, either saliva or water was around her lower "lip". I used my finger to put her up to a more stable branch so she wouldn't fall off in the middle of the night and after opening her mouth once more, drifted off again. I'm going to see if I can get a vet appointment tomorrow instead of the one we have Saturday... but any idea what this might mean?

I am by no means an expert, but I will say ,if this baby isnt over 4-5 months old , and you are not a breeder who has raised babies before, even healthy, I wouldnt even consider purchasing it. I have had 10 baby chams that have all looked healthy, were eating great and drinking......only to lose every last one of them , one at a time before they were 4 months old. If this baby is already unhealthy you will just be paying their price and more than likely losing it in a week or 2!!

Well hopefully the phenix worms will change here mind on the not wanting to eat....fingers crossed:D

Yep! And it's always good to have as many feeders as possible. The phoenix worms would bring me up to 5 different kinds :D 2 different kinds of flies, 2 types of crickets and phoenix worms :) I know that the crickets and flies are pretty much the same all around... but I like to think one of each is better than two of the same!

After last night's scare, she's seemingly doing way better today! She ate some flies (around 6 again) and drank some more. Her urates are still a bit yellow, but much better than yesterday. I'm going to take her to the vet today, who will give her an injection of liquid for her dehydration if needed, but seeing as her eyes are not as sunken today, I believe she's on the road to recovery. It also seems like the flies are doing their job, because she's not as thin anymore! :D We decided to name her Yuki which means snow (we got her when it was snowing really bad out) and blessing. I can't wait until she gets her strength back and can hunt on her own, she's still just opening her mouth like a little bird when I hold a fly near her and slooooowly touching her tongue to the fly. But at least she's eating! This makes me happy :)

Wow- bless you for taking in this lil gal & the challenge of rehabilitation. When I got my lil guy he was recovering from a previous owner's inconsistent care which resulted in a nutrient deficiency. I've had him for a month now and fret over him like a mother hen as I've read about many ailments that can occur over nute deficiencies. (I have located a vet that is familiar with chams in case a problem arises as well). Its so difficult to see a mistreated animal and to be passive about it. Good luck to you both & I look forward to updates!
