These were all taken at the resort. So much wildlife!!!

That must have been a wonderful trip. Just another of the places I would like to go. I would love to see the monkeys that close up. Do they really howl?

They are pretty loud!! You hear them coming down from the hillside before you see them. We had a chance to get up close with some rescued monkeys too.
Close up with the wild monkeys at the resort.

This spider monkey was a rescue at the zip line place(Congo trail). He took to my girlfriend pretty good.

Where in Costa Rica was this? It's a country I've been to a dozen times and love going back. And nothing beats a baby monkey eating from your hands, they look so innocent (wait until they grow up and aim their pee stream at you from above while you're hiking a trail!)

I'd want to bring him home too! hes so cute and fuzzy!
sounds lke a blast.. maybe ill go there one day.... ;)

I stayed at the RIU Guanacaste. Papagayo. About 20 minute drive from Playa del Coco. Nice place but if you don't explore Costa Rica(off resort) you are missing out for sure....just got home Monday and I'm already planning to return. Most places I go to once and feel "been there, done that". WAAYYYY too much to see here to feel like that. Sea turtles nesting on the beach at night....whole trip full of once in a lifetime experiences.
I know what you mean about the monkeys...a European man taking pictures beside me reached up with his camera for a closer picture and took a stream of urine in the eye!!! Now that's close!!

I was JUST in Guanacaste about a month ago, stayed there for 2 weeks. Beautiful area, for sure. You really do never run out of things to see there. There's always a beach, a cave, a volcano, a hot spring, or a jungle to see. Beautiful place!

For a place the size of Nova Scotia to have desert, rain forest, dry/wet jungle all within a couple hours drive is amazing!! People were great!! I need to get a little further down the coast (Tamarindo maybe?) and try some surfing. Not much of that here in Canada!! I'm sure I'll be a return visitor.

I missed out on Arenal as well. A bunch of roads were shut down because Will Smith was shooting a movie there.
