Current Problem - for the past couple of days he has been scratching and trying to climb the clear sided of enclosure . The bottom part of enclosure was open broken so he had escaped and climbed to the very top of enclosure while we were gone and looked content. I placed him back inside enclosure and later he wanted out again. hoping it is something simple

He most likely just wants to be out of the cage. Do you have a safe area where you could set up a free range? It would need to be safe from small children and other pets.

Not really. Maybe get a fake tree and set in the bath tub and let him climb on that. I have dogs so have to be sure they can't get to him. It is weird, he just started doing that a couple of days ago. Coming of age I guess

He looked content and happy when he escaped and perched on top of enclosure
