All 8 seem to be doing great, but we all know how montane babies are....they do great for awhile, then BAM! I really hope these little ones make it....Im keeping them outside so they can get the temp drop at night and all the natural UVs. Eating on FF and 1/8 crix.

Nice! good luck
Thanks! Im hoping keeping them outside will help my odds out. We've been having a nice breeze lately and day time temps have been in the mid 70s except last 2 days think it hit 80. Nights have gone down to around 55deg. so all my montanes have been loving it....

With beautiful weather like that I am sure it is going to help your odds!!!! The two look great!!!

Oh they are very cute!!! What's the commn name...I don't know all the species names yet.
These are the "Rudis" Chameleons you see advertised. sternfeldi were at one time a subspecies of the true Rudis, but are now their own species. Its nearly impossible to get T. rudis....so these are still imported as "Rudis"

Heres a pic of their cage and how I water them.

First watering lasts 30mins, then a 5-10sec. misting every other hour. At end of day I water for 10mins like the 30min one.

I had three rudis. I got them when they were 6 days old. Got them from a pet shop. They got them at 5 days and until then they looked really bad. They ate like crazy and drank well for almost a month, then almost all at once seemed to just die off. For no apparent reason. I dont know..but anyway, here are some of the photos of mine:

Ohh poor little chams....at least they had u to look after them in for the short time they were with u. Cant believe some1 would give a pet store such young ones and that the store would even buy them and then sell them!! Greed knows no bounds it seems like!! The "die off" is something that plagues alot of us trying to successfully raise certain montanes. They just start dyeing one after another.......really sucks.

I like the set up. And thanks for the info on them:)

I can't wait for spring/summer to make an outside location. Will be next to my tortoise in my side yard. That yard is surrounded by electric fence to keep the wildlife and loose dogs out.

Oh, that's sad!! I hate it when petco here gets certain animals in! I've gotten several reptiles there just to save them. 2 wks about I brought a guinea pig that had 2 dead ones in the cage and everyone else sick...called animal control as soon as I left!

Wow, Look at that tongue!!!!

They had quite an attitude for such little beings! I loved them to death..litterally. The pet shop realized they were in over their heads after buying them and knew I had chameleon experience. They gave me all three little guys and a 12x12x18" cage they were being kept in..for free.

That's a nice little gift from a pet shop. The one near my house has a pushy bearded dragon guy who thinks he knows all about chams too. A lizard is not the same as THE LIZARD...chams have no equal!
