Crested Gecko or Dart Frogs

Thought you guys would be excited to see my first female added to the group once she is shipped

She is beautiful a lavender, cream full pinner with some ok cresting. She comes from excellent bloodlines, her parents produce high creams and lavenders that fire up black. She doesn't fire quite black, a couple shades lighter and if she could pass that on I would honestly prefer that to the black. I prefer purple colors to the black. I plan to breed her with a male who has super high crests. So likely it would be either Valor most often or Strudel. Since her crests are rather lacking. And Snowman would have beautiful colors to pair with her but not great crests.

I will likely get at least two more females, I would prefer to get 3 more if not 4, but it depends on the space and how much my mother tolerates XD But I don't think she will complain as much after she sees the babies and the money they will make. She is worried more about the money, while I am worried about the genetics and possibilities XD

She's absolutely beautiful! Can't wait to see all of your crested geckos once they start breeding, and I'm super excited about getting another crestie.

The babies of these I have shown? As far as my breeding group? no. The top two I showed in the above post I will have babies hatching from in like... two weeks or so. But they are technically not my geckos XD I am sending them to a friend once he has the room. I just get to keep and do what I want with their eggs in the mean time.

It's why I am only selling these babies for like 50-65 dollars because I will make a bit of cash and I honestly love them as a gecko but aren't my preferred morphs etc. I know that harleys and these two colors are highly prized and generally the babies will be worth closer to 100 and then shipping. But I don't personally view them worth that with their morphs and genetics that they will likely throw.

The ones I am getting will be worth 300-400 without anyone blinking an eye, but I will do around 100-250 depending on the individual.

The girl I bought, Valor, and Snowman are all technically worth 300 each with their genetics and what they throw. I just happen to wait for the right time and am super picky with everything I look for in a potential breeder. If the girl had any less cresting I would have not bought her and if I had breeders who had less than average cresting I would not have gotten her. Snowman has average, and Valor and Stru both have amazing cresting. And all my males have a huge amount of pinning, it just depends on what colors and such I want to pair and bring out.

She's beautiful, I have 2 , not sure if there male or female. They get a long great. Have 5 dart frogs too their nice to have . Had them for 3 or 4 years now sooo cute !

You should be able to tell easily if you've had them from 3-4 years. Males have some HUGE hemipenal bulges, females have none.... ummm lemme see if any of my males have any obvious signs.

So you see the base of Snowman's tail (name still about to change haven't gotten him yet) the ball area is his hemipenal bulge, should be on each side.

Waiting for the eggs to hatch has been a nightmare, they are so close I can tell with the fatness... But ugh. I hate waiting as everyone likely knows. I am surprised they haven't already but obviously they still think they need to grow. And I defer to them right now with stuff.

New two eggs added to the six I have before. The mama is still doing really really well. She's gained and is now holding the weight she has gained. I am so happy with how well she's doing.

No I will when I start breeding my own geckos specifically. I will have a very specific labeling system too. These eggs I know who they come from, and generally I don't have a huge amount invested in them other than wanting healthy eggs.

I'm worried that the differences in the "age" of the eggs may affect the hatching. It's just a feeling I have...I could be totally wrong.

What do you mean? I can easily seperate, do you have an idea of what your bad feeling is?

Oh @kinyonga and anyone else who can weigh in on just general hatching eggs of any sort with the closet method. How important is it for them to be in complete darkness? My temps have gotten low where I keep the gecko eggs, dangerously so, and I don't feel comfortable putting a heat pad near them because they are just as sensitive to heat as they are the cold. So I was wondering if it's ok to keep them in my room next to one of the basking lights for my reptiles so they get the radiant heat from the hood etc. I always hear about putting them in something that makes it dark. My room doesn't get direct sunlight because I want my diurnal guys to sleep when the lights go off etc. But I do turn the room lights on... Any thoughts?

There was a study non chameleon eggs hatched in darkness compared to a lighter place and the eggs in the darkness hatched better...but I don't know if it applies to geckoes and I can't find the link. I'm going to try to find the link still.

I just recently candled one of the ones who is I am sure about to hatch soonest. The baby has settled down, isn't moving tons when I candle which means, along with that and signs of the shell thinning in other parts we likely have around 1 week or so for that one. The other one will likely soon follow after. I have started seperating the younger eggs because of my nervousness and because Kinyonga also thinks it's necessary. Might as well play it safe. Everyone is doing well though. No signs of death or mold. My new girl that arrived has settled down nicely, I have another 130 to pay off on Snowman who will be a major male breeder and his current person and the person who has bred him before helped me narrow down who I should get as my third female. She's been wonderful. For my third and final female breeder (for now) I am looking for a girl with red and preferablly inkspots super dal.
