So my 4 month old Panther chameleon has recently been introduced to Phoenix worms and superworms. He now thinks crickets are a thing of the past. Except they aren't...
Ive tried to lessen the amount of worms hoping he would eat some of his crickets but had no luck. So I stopped worms all together and only gave crickets. I never see him eat any crickets and there are always some left over up in the top corners of the cage. He's very healthy so he must be eating some? I can tell he is so unappetized by them and refuses to fill up on them. I have a combo of brown crickets and banded crickets. Could it be the cricket gutload? They eat a combination of leafy greens, veggies, and cricket crack(which is majority alfalfa, bee pollen, and other good ingredients). I never have taken the left over crickets out of the cage because as anyone knows, it's a pain in the ass to pluck each individual frisky cricket out of your chameleons mini jungle. I have a shipment of silk worms on the way and if he decides he likes those, I'm okay substituting those into his diet in place of the crickets.
If anyone has experienced a boycott in crickets, any points or tips would be appreciated. I may just have to reintroduce them to him and give him a beak.
