Ok so I have a few years experience with Chams, and been making my own gutload for the last few months, but recently I bought some cricket crack, Today i got a new shipment of crickets in, so i decided to break out the Cricket crack I placed it on 4 little dishes, All I can say is I have NEVER seen crickets react to a gutload like this they are all over it swarming to it ! Holy S__T , It really is like crack to them, lol. Can't wait to see how my chams react tomorrow after eating them with this gutload, again all I can say is WOW !

Ive used it also. Actually need to get some. I do see your avatar is a jacksonii. Im not sure if others have had this problem but I have. With some montane species I couldnt feed them with feeders that are loaded on the crack every day because of edema problems. Some of the specimen of one species would be fine and others wouldnt. My K. tavetana babies seemed to be prone to edema if they got the crack every day. Just watch out and if you see edema in any of your animals cut back. As I said, some individuals of one species would have problems and others not.

GREAT PRODUCT THOUGH!!! This is by no means a bash just letting you know what I have experienced myself:)

That is what I was using too:eek:

Just keep an eye out, Hulk. Ive never used it on jacksons. I had two Kinyongia uthmoelleri males. One seemed to be more prone to edema from the crack and the other not. Same with the K. tavetana. I never had a problem using it with my K. tenuis though.

Interesting, correct me if I am wrong, edema is caused by over supplementaion , when the organs can not get rid of the excess vitamins, will notice swollen neck etc. I believe that moderation and variation is the key, so I will use the Cricket crack for a few days and than one of my own gutloads , Keep switching it up. Thanks for the input.

You are right. But, it can also be from under supplementation, kidney failure from whatever etc. There are many reasons. All I know is that cutting back on the crack helped keep the edema down on some animals. It wasnt my dusting schedule because I rarely dust with supplements with montanes. I try to have a good gutload which compensates for the supplements. When cutting back on the crack they got rid of the slight gular edema. I know for a fact it was from the crack because that is all I would cut back. Like I said, its a great product but some individuals, even the montane mix, is too much to use every day. May or may not affect the jacksons.

Crack babies.
