Cricket Crisis in California

I have been buy crickets from the cricket factory in Visalia with no problem. I had one batch die off about 4 months ago but thats it. I recommend the cricket factory to anyone, always really healthy crickets.

See ya,

Yes there is a virus in farms across the States

There are cricket farms all across the United States that are currently having the virus. We at Southern Cricket have not had a problem and several other large producers have not had a problem. Growing crickets should be done in very sterile and clean conditions. When the internet came about many people thought they could easily learn to grow crickets and that is not the case. You can take no shortcuts in raising them or problems are bound to happen. I suggest you contact farms that have been around for a while and are proven growers. There is also the problem that many so called producers selling crickets over the internet do not really grow crickets but have them drop shipped from other places. I would never deal with one of these companies because you don't know where the crickets actually came from.

I have bought my crickets from Ghanns for over a year and called them today for my weekly order and guess what - they are out of the larger sizes because of everyone from California buying from them! ACKKK OK Juli, is there another place in So. Fla. that you buy crickets from? Do they have a breeder program?

The virus is affecting everyone in many ways I guess. I hope things are getting better in California.
