I know that I have been one the people who has been looking for empty egg cartons for my crickets, but I have found a pretty good alternative. In the past if there has not been enough room for all of my crickets to hide they tend to start fighting for hiding places.

What I have found is that if you take those McDonalds 4 cup holder trays ( not the 2 cup holder) split the 4 compartments into their individual holder and stack them up, it makes a nice cricket hotel...

I'll try and post some pics later on. if the cam is still charged..

That was the whole problem I had...unless you buy the eggs in bulk or find a good source...I always have a few of these thing laying around at work so I just decided to make use of it.
