cricket keeper

Great minds think alike!

I did the same thing! No way was I spending $30 on the larger cricket keeper, so I bought the tubes separately (forgot which site) and now I have a mega cricket condo for lee than half the price:)

1:43 MOST IMPORTANT piece of information.. crickets CAN jump =P
you did a good job, great video

although please be carefull with that vicious knife! lol why not just use a spade bit?? you could have been done in just a minute without risk of injury haha :)

i am concerned about your gut loading though. cricket pillows have no nutrients whatsoever but moisture, and what is that grain?

its a gut load, it has calcium and other stuff. its from flukers. i wont give them calcium in their water and in their food. i read that it is not good for your cham.

please do some research on how to gut load. fluker's is garbage for chameleons, you have to dust your feeders with suppliments (plain calcium, calcium with D3, and multi-vitamin) as i suggest Rep-Cal brand for all.

search through gutloading threads and check out the blogs by sandra chameleon. gutloading is one of the most important parts of keeping and feeding reptiles, and what you have there, unfortunately isnt anything but a problem waiting to happen.

The Fluker cricket diets are inadequate for gutloading as they are not balanced or a good source of essential vitamins and minerals needed for healthy chams. Fresh veggies and fruits should always be the staple of your gutload. See the link in my signature for a list of good veggies to use or read up more on it here: The Basics of Gutloading.

Fluker diets can be used in addition to good gutloading (I use it as filler on crickets that won't be fed to the chams any time soon) but should never be the staple.

good little diy project, i use all sort of old carboard for my cricket toilet paper tubes egg carton riped up and folded cereal boxes anything really..
as for gut loads i use sandrachameleons dry recipe but it is a bit of a dedicated project to get and chop and mix eveything and alot of fresh greens and friuts.
latley i have been trying out Bug Burger from Repashy food, its a all in one food and water in a powder form that you make into a gel. so far its a easy to use solution, u might want to try it
glad to see you are enjoying Leanord so much
