Cricket options

I have been ordering my bulk crickets from my LPS. I like to give them my business on supplies and such to keep a privately owned small store afloat in my area. But I need another option for my pinheads. They only order 2x a week and I need another option. Im looking for quality cricks not a box of dead or dying ones been there done that. Im paying about $16.00 per 1000 now. So I'd like to keep the price at or around that. Anyone have any companies they can refer me too. I used to use Armstrong in Louisiana but the last few times I ordered from them I was disapointed with the amt of doa's.

Its incredibly easy to "create" your own pinheads if you regularily have adult crickets. Simply put a shallow (like two inches deep) dish (or dishes) of damp sand / peat / soil in with some adult crickets for a couple days. The female crickets will lay lots of eggs. Remove the dish, put a lid on it (with a few small pinholes for air), and set it aside. Even just at normal room temp the pinheads will emerge within a few weeks. If kept warmer, 7-10days. Put a fresh sand dish in with your adult crickets every few days, and you'll have a never ending supply of pinheads.
