I got a veiled chameleon From My Brother and he has had him from 8 weeks till he is now 1 year old, My brother said he just feed him Crickets and Locusts and he feed him about 20 a day and he would eat all of them, i half that to about 10 and he still ate all them, then a few days later i got some mealworms and he LOVED THEM and will now not eat Crickets or Locusts, My brother never gutloaded the crickets but i have with Dandelion leafs with no insecticides and Carrot and also watered the crickets, ive also bread some more crickets so there still little and wondering why hes gone off them as soon as hes had mealworms, i know there a treat hence why i want him off them, ive tried starving him off them and just putting Crickets in and he just moves way from them and walks down to see if there are any mealworms there ? its like hes hooked on them !! i know he is hydrated as he has only just starting drinking from his bowl but better now from the misting where he will sit and drink while i spray him then go to all the windows and plants and takes water from them, i think it was the move he had to undertake but seems calm apart from Not Eating Crickets that i know he needs, He just keeps hunting for mealworms he hasnt eaten for a day and as soon as i put 10 worms in he shot down and ate every one in 1 min !!, He looks like a kid in a sweet shop when i put them in and when i put the Crickets in he will move to the other side and just blank them ?

Please get rid of the water bowl...they are not good around chams for several reasons. Mealworms are like Cham Crack. Get him off them if you can but at least gut load them and dust them well. Their exoskeletons are hard to pass and they tend to be fatty. That being said, mine will just about only eat them and shuns everything else for the most part. He was like that when I got him and I've never been able to break him. I have to really gut load them well and dust all with Repashy products and so far (1 1/2 years) he seems to be fine.

Yep thats what i thought and was going to say hes like a Crack Addict lol, ive cut him down, gutloaded the crickets but still not bothered, what about Garden worms, to get his mind off them, for what ive seen with his water bowl its size is only an ince by ince but he dos drink out of it and its changed 2 times a day, any reasons why a fresh water bowl is bad as i use it for his back up if hes Thirsty in between misting. He is a little weird lol
