Daedalus and Dr. O get Uncomfortably Acquainted

Olimpia

Biologist & Ecologist
We had Dr. O over last night to see the new panther hatchlings and to get a tour of the chameleons (last time he was over he didn't get to see very much). And when it came time for Kevin to meet Daedalus, the guy seemed much more interested in shooting at something on Kevin's face than anything else.

And just after I took this photo - Thwack! Right in the eye!

I don't know how long it will be before Dr. O dares visit us again!

LOL! Too funny. Never thought of this happening. Hopefully the blink of the eye is faster than the tongue.

Thats one of the funnier stories Ive read in a long time. lol Never had one do that to me. Maybe my eyes arent as attractive as Dr O's. :D

Gross - cham tongue to the eyeball - that must have been uncomfortable. Next time have Dr. O wear a Go Pro mounted to his forehead for an incredible shot! :D

It was completely unexpected. I got Daedalus out and he was immediately interested at aiming at his face but I didn't think he would commit. Too funny!

panther chams do funny things

I've had my male panther to shoot his tongue out and hit me above my eye. I have thick hair and eye browse and I knew when both of his eyes was looking at me I was in trouble! He would shoot his tongue out and hit me above my eye like he thought it was a worm. It feels weird when they hit you with their tongue.

LMAO!!! That is some funny stuff right there!

Your lucky olimpia to have a great vet around you!

I was too fascinated by the fact that he was obviously going to shoot at my eyeball, so I had to see. he nailed me open-eyed, right on my pupil. I wish my brain could output 1080p! it was definitely a unique experience!

or perhaps with all of my veterinary experience, I finally have ocular larval migrans, where a dog or cat roundworm migrates to the eye of humans! maybe he saw a worm waving around in there!! :D
