Daily Walk Video: Take One (Epic Fail)

I tried to get the first part of Phineas' daily walk on video. First off, I started late, but I figured it would be good practice. Next thing I know, he is stopping in the middle of the floor. While videoing, I'm thinking he decided to bask, which he does sometimes on the floor, but never in this spot. Finally, I decide he's just not moving. When I stop taping, I realize that my Apple TV screensaver had come on and Phineas was staring, mesmerized, at 51" photos of himself being randomly flashed up on the TV! After I changed the "channel" he went along his merry way. Funny - I have never seen him react to anything on the TV before.

Love the video Deb! You have give Phineas a really good life. It's amazing to watch them and see what all they do when they are free ranged. When my guys were younger, especially Luie knew every inch of my house and patrolled it regularly. He's scratch at the sliding back door to go outside, slowly follow me to the bathroom and he definately new the room the girls were in and would hand around their door scratching to get in. I find them to be quite intelligent. :)

Intelligent indeed! I know I greatly underestimated what Phineas would be able to do / learn when I first got him. Like Luie, he goes to the front door and wants OUT! And he also regularly patrols the entire downstairs! They are amazing creatures and after my FRing experience with Phineas, I don't think I could keep a cham in a cage. I guess that will keep my numbers down. . . still working on my Melleri Room. . .
