dead babys

I was outside walking my dog Charlie when suddenly i heard a sudden shriek.
I went inside and found my pop reptoman sulking over two dead baby cham sitting or laying on athe top of a plastic bin.

Is there any way to bring them back?
by the way this is actually geckogirl101 i forgot to sign in to mine.

Are they breathing at all? Are they discolored?

There were 2 eggs that pipped but never hatched. They had slits but not enough to allow the egg to open on the end. They had been like that for 3 or 4 days so I cut them out to see if they were still alive.

The best you can do is slowly run some warm water over and gently massage them. If they move you might be able to save them. If not, they just weren't strong enough to make it.

Get a pair of pointed dissection scissors and precision tweezers for next time. If you have the tools handy, you can gently snip the egg a little more without even moving it from the incubation container.

Geckogirl sounds young, so in her defense, I don't think she meant it the way it was perceived. It think she is very emotional over such a morbid thing to find on the weekend. I'm sorry for your loss, for both of you geckogirl and reptoman

Thanks for the sympathy everybody and sorry for the comments from geckogirl. She is quite sad about the 2 that did not make it and may be a little too young to understand the emotional response she will get from what she says sometimes. I already talked to her about it.

I think it just confused everyone that you were posting under your pop's name. To see a thread of "dead babies" is very upsetting to everyone here. I don't think anyone thinks you were lying, it just appeared that you weren't taking the situation seriously. It was very grown up of you to apologize, and we know you didn't mean to seam uncaring. Some times it is hard to express your feelings in typed words, and it is exciting to see so many people responding to something you have posted!!! Next time, pick a cool thread name and post GOOD news! Don't beat yourself up too much, it's all part of growing up! See you soon.
