Discreet Feeder Shipping (packaging)!

I wouldn't worry too much about the crickets in the winter. I would be more concerned with them getting pretty cold. Or at least, that's my experience with crickets in closed boxes without vents in the winter. The temps here only get down to freezing every now and then too, so it's not incredibly cold.

Yea. Well im in NYC and lately we have had some spring-like temps. Like yesterday was close to 60*, right now it's 56* and it's not even noon yet..

:(

Anyone local with a overflowing B.Dubia colony that can spare a few Adult females?

Im done with shipped Crickets!

You dont have anyone you know that you could have the bugs shipped to?
wow, your friends suck! lol jk

Not near me. Everyone i know that would, lives about an hour to an hour and 1/2 away. (Granted it's probably only 12-14 miles, but thats how long it takes you to get there in NYC!)

ah. got it.. that totally sucks.
sounds like.. you should start breeding bugs.

I live in a rural area with no mail delivery to my home- all mail has to go to a post office box. I've never had an insect company have a problem with shipping to my PO Box. A post office box is pretty inexpensive and you only need the smallest size- they will put a slip in your box that you can go to the window and get your package.

This is the thing. I had a recent shipment sent "HOLD at Post Office" for my pick up!

Well the Post office completly negated this and still delivered to my home. I got another suprise call from the doorman the other day. Dispite my efforts to avoid it being sent to my home.

I'll look into the PO.BOX ,since when you ship and use the "HOLD at PostOffice" option you still need to provide an actual address.

How much do you pay for your post office box? Im asking because i am incharge for billing for a few PO.Boxes at my job and they are usually $1000 per year, each.

I've been telling them " Oh mann, i can't believe they screwed up my order again... I told them freezed Dried!! NOT ALIVE!!".

I have already used this excuse 2 times. It won't hold up much longer.

Thats crazy money. You shouldn't have to pay more then 30ish for 6 months. 60ish for a year.
Those prices might be for business or what not.

Get one in 5 minutes online from USPS.
I think I pay something like $20 for 6 months. Something like that- can't remember the exact figure. It may have gone up a little in recent years.

I'll look into it, but if that is the case this may be the best bet.

I always get picked on by my neighbors by what we get in the mail. I know the mail men think I'm crazy. Who in their right mind would order bugs??? But yea I think a po box would work. Or pick it up at the post office.

their faces are hilarious.
I have to explain that i have lizards. even after explaining, im still the crazy bug lady!

Thats my biggest issue... Its not justt the fact that i'm getting live insects. THEY CAN SEE IT!!

And they always say the same thing. " Come down ASAP, they are escaping"!

PS: i honestly think they will be fine in that box, then places into another box without mesh screen "windows" and survive the trip. Especially in winter. I'll gladly pay lil extra for this "experiment".

HAHA. I haent had any escape.. until i pop the first flap open. thank god i upgraded to a big tub instead of the ten gallon tank i was using. trying to dump a box full of criekts in a tank was hard to say the least.
they might be. you could call mulberry and ask them if they are willing to try.

i know fo rme, because of summer temps, i had to pick up from the post office and fedex.
i would ask mulberry to do this for you. and ive even had mulberry call and go, we cant ship them closer to your house than the fedex pick up spot, 21 miles awa, thats too far..
i said id still pick them up. lol

i've had shipments come from LLL where they were double boxed and the outside box had no screening, they made it without any problems. they were overnighted though.
