i rarely wash my hands after holding my chammies, and im not dead.
The most common infection humans acquire from reptiles is Salmonellosis, but this can easily be prevented by handwashing. There are other more serious diseases, but many only infect those who are immunocompromised (like young children and sick elderly).
The link below is more descriptive, but you should keep in mind that 99% of you not catching a disease from you chameleon is good sanitation: Don't kiss or lick the lizard and wash your hands (with soap) EVERY time you touch it or anything in or around it's cage.

No, but do you ever clean up cham poop and then go eat some Doritos? Just saying, it is a good idea to wash your hands anyway. Why take chances?
Oh crap. We aren't supposed to lick them?

Though I do wash after touching the bugs.
Are your chams potty trained?!? I am impressed! (and jealous)
