DIY Remodel for Veiled.

This is mostly a thread to keep load pics of my progression. What little there is so far. Lol

I've had this acrylic enclosure sitting empty for close to a year now probably. Until i recently decided to attempt my hand with Cham keeping. It sits at 36"x20"x72", so it's been a rather large empty eye sore.

Now it being entirely acrylic, except a 30"x12" portion at the top, I already had my first issue. So i decided I'm going to rip the acrylic doors off, and frame it with a wood/screen door. And I'll increase the size portion at the top. I figure that much screen should suffice for air flow.

As far as interior decor goes. I went with some privacy lattice, i love the look. And it'll make virtually everywhere accessible. Plus, and heres my favorite part, all the holes in the lattice are excellent for wood work, vines, bamboo and plants to hang from.

I haven't made much progress so far. Having the floors redone in majority of the house really puts a strain and getting anything else done. Lol

Excited to get this beast running again. Best light system I've ever invested in.

Cool light! Tell me more. I see they're distributor is Hydrofarm Inc. in Petaluma. That's about 45 min. +/- from me.

It can run up to four 2' T5 HO lights (24w max i believe). I like the 6500 that is sold with it. Produces a real crisp blue/white light. Even with my cage being 6', I've never had too many issues with plants growing on the bottom. As long as they aren't completely blocked from the foliage above. Plus you can swap one or two of the bulbs for a 24" Zoomed T5 HO.

Well been a while since I've done anything here. Works been crazy. But I made a little progress this weekend. Got everything internal stained a few weeks back. Finished framing the replacement doors, since I decided that the doors being screen instead of plaxi would be best. Now all I have left is to finish staining the stand/canopy, the door frames, and drill a hole for the drainage system I'm implementing. Then let everything air out and get myself my first chameleon!

Yes, though I doubt I'll keep this enclosure for more than a few years anyway. I have a plan to recycle the acrylic from this into a large enclosure that measures 6'x3'x6'. Just waiting to move into a permanent residence first.
