Do I leave food in cage overnight

I have a 2 month old chameleon veal but sometimes I leave crickets in the cage overnight is it safe

I wouldn't recommend it. there is a possibility they can bite your cham while they sleep. any leftovers should be taken out. however if there are hiding spots for them it will be very difficult to get them all. you could leave cricket food on the bottom of the Viv and catch them as they come to food

IMHO i think that actually going in and removing any leftover crickets would only do more harm than good. The chance of a cricket biting your cham while they sleep and doing any harm is much lower than the amount of unnecessary stress you will cause by digging around in their enclosure every single day to pick out leftover crickets. If there's tons of them all over the place then yeah maybe, but I wouldn't stress out about 4-5 crickets being left overnight, your cham will be fine.

that is good to know

I leave mine in a container if there's any left at the end of the day. I do not let my crickets keep their hoppy legs, so the cannot escape the food bowl. I just don't want the Cham waiting for me to get up if he's hungry! If they are still in the bowl by the time I mosey down, I dump them back in with the other crickets so they can eat, then I get fresh ones.
