Do you ever get bored of your chameleon?

Never...if I were you I would be very careful as you might be getting yourself into a situation that gets out of control..

Chameleons are not on earth for our entertainment. If you are "bored" with your first one, I would strongly advise against getting another one. That one will probably be "boring" too...

This is a reptile forum, do you really think anyone that is passionate enough about their reptiles to login to a community, post pictures, provide updates, ask for and give advice is going to say they get boring?! Have you ever owned ANY reptile?

Nope not really. I can admit that I get less interested when I am super busy but he gets the same care, I just spend less time in my room. There is always something to tinker with like the enclosure or coming up with new watering methods etc. Its not just about getting the chameleon and looking at it. Their behavior and general nature is cool. I free range mine too so I see different behaviors which just doesn't get boring.

On another note my chams never ever bore me I'm fascinated by them ill lay in bed with my t.v. And just watch them in there cages out of all my reptiles there my favorite I'm getting a apartment in June and am getting a 2 bedroom just so I can have a free range room my advise is if you think there's a chance you'll get bored dont get one cause I loved them before I decided to invest in them don't regret spending my savings on them

I get why you said boring, seems like you buy a cage, set it up, put a chameleon in it and then you are done. How ever, like eyeviper said, there is always something to tinker with, and always something new to try. It's a never ending cycle. I applaud those who have managed to only own one chameleon. It's very easy to get addicted! SOO many different fascinating species! Not to mention these members on here constantly raising the bar on chameleon care. Just when you think you have the perfect set up, someone will post something incredible on here and you will just HAVE to duplicate that for your chameleon. Don't even get me started on the variety of insects they can eat. Depending on the species, some can even eat fruits and veggies! That alone is enough entertainment to last years!! I never get tired of finding a new snack that's safe for them to consume, and watching them hunt it down and slap it with that crazy long tongue. Then you have the photography angle. They are total camera candy! You can get some of the most amazing shots. Eating, drinking, simply climbing around. It's just entirely to much fun.
You can even take it a step further if you are knowledgable enough. Raising chameleons to save a specific species from extinction.
So my answer, is no. Definitely never get bored with my chameleons

I've only owned a chameleon for a little while now, but he absolutely fascinates me.
They don't follow the mannerisms and habits of other reptiles and each have their own sort of personality and quirks which only adds to their intrigue.
Setting up and maintaining their cages takes a little bit of constant care which allows time for interaction and gives you something to do when you're bored. Also people don't seem to expect just how "grand" these set ups can look. Adding that curb appeal to the room is a plus too haha.
I've had a love for chameleons ever since I was a little kid and caught a glimpse of a jackson's chameleon in the local pet shop. Over ten years later, I'm the proud owner of a beautiful baby male ambilobe panther chameleon and couldn't be more happy with my decision to invest in a proper enclosure and get one.
My advice; Do your research before you decide if you want one or not (I spent a little over a month reading for hours every day about, specifically, panther chameleons before I even ordered anything for his cage). They are much more involved than I had expected as far as getting everything set up and settled in, but if you do it right, they're very easy to keep and maintain.

We do love our chams, that is very true!
There is so much to fiddle with - rebuilding cages, trimming plants, feeding bugs, testing misting schedules, setting up free ranges... you never really will be bored... but you will be BROKE!

If you asked my girlfriend, she would say that they are neat, but not that exciting. She would also never be on a Chameleon forum. I find them incredibly fascinating and always have. Now that I own my own house, there is a room specially designed for keeping chameleons in.
