Dont know why anyone would do this but...

I wouldnt do that if it were my cham...Fools:D

dont mean to hijack but,

I wonder if Steve saw this...? That panther on the right has the same eye mutation as one of his babies.

umm...well...we don't really know how that played out do we? The dude with the camera just gave it up and tossed the camera into the plants...

It seems like a stupid thing to do.

So...it's posted here why? Is it likely that the person who would do that is a regular here? If he/she is, would you expect a "oh, yes that's me!" response?

So...the reason for posting this is....what?

If you have a You Tube Account flag it as animal abuse (small flag icon bottom right). It should be taken down.

I'm guessing he dropped the camera to pull them apart, suggesting he probably did have some concern for their safety but still, for all we know the one broke the others jaw with that bite.

No different than if he had put up a video of two pit bulls going at it.

Flag it!

Sometimes you need male to male interaction to get them wanting to court females. However, I would first start by just letting them see each other by putting the two enclosures together and hope that worked. If not and I wanted to get some breeding action going I would house two males in a large cage with the RECEPTIVE female in there. This will sometimes trigger natural responses that some captive chams have "lost". I housed all my K. tenuis together (2.2) in hopes that the males would fight and then...........breed:rolleyes: They were pissed for a week and displayed at each other but in the end they never did breed with the females and got accustomed to each other and would actually sleep side by side:mad::(

Whether or not this is a case of just wanting them to fight or trying to trigger them to breed is questionable but he did say fight over a female. I wouldnt jump to conclusions so fast.

You do make an excellent point. Sometimes a male needs to see another male to breed. Usually, I will just put a male on the outside of the breeding males enclosure. Typically, this is enough to trigger mating. I don't let them fight, I'd feel terrible if something bad happened.
